This is a brutal review. The Go Go Truck was at helix brewing company last friday (8/26/22). This was the worst food I have ever eaten from a food truck. We ordered banh mi. The chicken was akin to a premade burger king chicken patty on a stale hoagie bun. The carrots were the only flavor I could recognize. It was really really bad. (For comparison, legoland has a ban mi on a steamed bao bun that is surprisingly delicous). There was no love put into the GoGo version in any way. Moving on, my son got the barnyard chicken sandwich. Both me and my wife push on our kids to eat to fullness or complete what they choose to order, but after tasting what he ordered both my wife and myself felt it was okay to throw away. I cannot fathom how that is a menu item that gets repeat purchases. The flavors on that do not work together at all. It was the quite possbily the worst thing I have ever tasted. When the sauce that is used keeps you from picking off the bacon to eat because....bacon.....that should tell you something about the flavor combination. It was truly awful. Lastly my daughter ordered simple chicken strips, which is apparently the same premade burgerking like chicken patty, cut into strips. It was not even seasoned, no salt, no seasonings...just a premade patty thrown in oil and sliced up and called chicken strips. If one is not able to get a kid to eat a sliced chicken patty because it tastes like "cardboard"...something is very wrong and there is much room for improvement. I have never posted a food review ever....ever! I guess I feel if I have nothing nice to say, keep it to myself. But this experience was so bad....here I am. The food was not cheap, we could have done chik-filet for a 1/3 of the price we spent and been ten times as happy with our choices. I am 3 days removed from the event and it is still popping in my brain while I was eating lunch today. The potato cubes(go go cubes or whatever) were cooked fine and had seasoning. That is the only item that was pleasant. Why bother writing this? This experience was awful. If changes are not made, then this is the sort of operation that hurts other food trucks trying to survive. I am used to LA food trucks where sometimes you find magic in the strangest places, but almost always it is good food. This food was the absolute worst food truck experience of my life. My kids will forever be suspicous of my future suggestions to eat from a food truck. I have to give it 1/5 stars because a zero is not allowed in order to post. If the food was cheap then maybe I could rationalize that 1/5 for effort is fair. Zero is my ranking. I know. It was brutal. Hopefully it...
Read moreWe had a private event at work where we have several food trucks at once and get to pick which one we want. The Go Go Truck joined us for the first time. Now, I cannot argue price versus quantity, because I didn’t pay a dime. My company covered that. I’ll tell you what I can tell you.
The Tri Tip Sandwich was tasty and I’d order that again. I asked for no horseradish and they got my order right. There are points there. I had my choice of green or potato salad. I chose potato salad and first couple of bites it was really good, but then I noticed it was overly spiced with something. I couldn’t put my finger in it, but either way potato salad, sometimes less is more. That is the only thing I had issue with.
The service is friendly and they clearly appreciate the customers at their window. Maybe next time I’ll try the Fried Chicken Sandwich like my work partner got. Just not the...
Read moreWe tried the Barnyard and the pulled pork sandwich with a side of potatoes. Both sandwiches were good sized and had a great flavors. The potatoes have lots of seasoning and are a great side dish. We like getting out and trying new places to eat and this is one place i wouldn't hesitate to go back to again. One warning is that the chicken patty and potatoes are right out of fryer and really hot. Give yourself a minute or two to cool down before you take that first bite. Well...
