Edit: Ironically, today I received a text message asking for a review. This is clearly another confirmation that Hudson’s Furniture has nothing more to do with the customer, once you’ve placed your furniture and paid for it in full!
Our furniture was ordered on December 1, 2019. It is now March 12, 2020 and we still don’t have our home furnished! One of the most remarkable things about the WORST retail experience of my life is Hudson’s lack of communication and ZERO effort to resolve the multiple issues.
I went to Hudson’s with the intention of furnishing my brand new home. $9,500 of my $13,000 order is wrong or damaged. Truly absurd.
Original post: The WORST Customer Service I have ever experienced in my life!
Can someone PLEASE put my furniture on a truck and deliver it to me???
My delivery window was Thursday 1/30/20 between 3pm and 6pm. When the drivers missed their window, and were going to be arriving after 6:45pm and I had to leave my house at 6:30pm for a very special event. I was informed the furniture would have to be “returned”. The return would be reprocessed. I would then have to speak to Customer Service to “reschedule”!! I may get a delivery the following Tuesday or Wednesday!! This is absurd!!
I called the North Tampa store and was told by the manager Skip “sorry, nothing I can do@. Zero. Absolutely zero interest in getting my furniture to me, due to their error. Skip had absolutely Zero Customer Service skills.
On Friday, I called the North Tampa store again and begged another manager, Keith to PLEASE put my furniture on a truck and deliver it to me. Absolute Zero Customer Service skills, as I was again told “sorry, nothing I can do.”
Do NOT buy your furniture from these people.
It’s now Sunday, and I have no furniture because Hudson’s missed their window!! I was told they were running late on Thursday because someone called out sick.
My Sales Rep Aaron was AMAZING, until I told him I wasn’t buying anymore furniture for my new house. I was lied to about delivery dates. I was told everything would be ready for delivery on the day of my closing, January 22. Aaron told me multiple times, disregard those dates you see in those emails from the company “unless it comes from me”. This was a lie. Here is a recap of my deliveries:
Please note. We just relocated here and brought no furniture with us. Our Sales Rep, Aaron knew it was imperative we receive our furniture as promised. We have been eating on TV trays and the only seat delivered, our brand new sofa. This is unacceptable.
Sofa - delivered 1/23/20 Side Chair - still no delivery date Ottoman - still no delivery date Bed Frame - delivered 1/23/20 Dresser - wrong color delivered 1/23/20 - reordered after being told mismatched bedroom furniture was “what I ordered” (2) Nightstands - wrong color delivered 1/23/20 - reordered after being told mismatched bedroom furniture was “what I ordered” Entertainment Center - delivered 1/23/20 - damaged - delivery team could not align doors properly. Had to schedule a technician to repair uneven, cheaply made doors. At time of order this piece was described as “relief”, a textured product. It is not. It’s a cheap lacquer finish that is poorly built. This product was misrepresented. Sofa Bed - delivered 1/23/20 Dining Room Table - 1/30/20 - delivery window missed by Hudson’s driver - still no table. (5) Dining Room Chairs 1/30/30 - delivery window missed by Hudson’s driver - still no table.
This has been and continues to be a disaster. I just want someone to PLEASE put my furniture on a truck and deliver it to me!!! Do not buy anything from this horrible company. ...
Read moreWe have been long time customers of Hudson's, however our experience with them regarding our last purchase has been horrible. We had a living room furniture set by Flexsteel that we loved but the bonded leather on the center consul started peeling. We had purchased the extended warranty and since they couldn't fix it they had us choose another set. The new Flexsteel living room set is horrible and is nowhere near the quality we previously had with Flexsteel. The frame was sagging and off-center and screws were loosening & falling off of the mechanisms. We also had a small tear in one of the couches, that the warranty covered. They sent out a service person who ordered new support springs and foam for all of the pieces & a cover to replace the seat with small tear. Months later the tech came out & installed the springs & foam & then ordered 2 new mechanisms, which were still waiting on. By the way the new cover did not match the set, so that is being replaced but we won't get it until June of 2022! These couches are not even a year old and are falling apart. We had been contacting Hudson's and every time we're put in contact with a different person, we were getting the runaround for months. We finally drove into the store in Tampa and a gentleman put us in contact with the customer service manager. We told her that we would like to exchange the set and we will pay the difference between the sets. However she told us that they would just have to keep fixing them. Every time they come out to fix these couches they find something else that's broken and has to be fixed, while we're left with sitting on broken, extremely uncomfortable furniture. I want this broken, dysfunctional, horrible set replaced in order to restore my faith in Hudson's Furniture. Due to this experience I will never purchase Flexsteel again & if this customer service continues, I will no longer be a Hudson's customer. Update I Wrote this review originally on the BBB which Hudsons is graded as an F. Now my motor has broke in the couch as well.
UPDATE Claramar (hope I’m spelling that right) from customer service at Hudson‘s called me and said that due to the numerous problems that we had with our couches Flexsteel couches we could exchange them and use the credit towards other couches. We chose Bassett and I am currently sitting on our new couches one week later!!! Faith & Cindi in the store we’re very helpful! We also bought two Tempur-pedic mattresses and an adjustable base. I want to thanks Hudsons for turning this experience around and giving us excellent customer care. We will continue to purchase from them. Please bring back the 5 year warranty though, it went...
Read moreThe salesperson, Glen, was very friendly, but provided us with incorrect information regarding a purchase of a leather sectional. The sectional was beautiful and came with two consoles (so the salesperson said AND I specifically asked). This set was apparently on closeout, but the set was available in the warehouse. We purchased it with insurance and delivery. The total was just over $6000. We received a call the next day from Glen stating that the two consoles did not come with the sectional as was previously told to us. Their website also shows the same sectional with the consoles for the same price as in the store. They told us they cannot get the consoles since it was a closeout piece and the manufacturer was no longer making them, then told us we could purchase the floor model consoles for 60% off. I found that to be a terrible offer considering we were told they came with the sectional at the price we already paid.
I had a bad feeling about the who situation and store after that. The store manager did eventually offer the floor model consoles to us for free (like she was doing us a huge favor by provide us we something for free that we already paid for). We declined the offer as we felt misled and misinformed. We asked for a refund because the experience just didn't feel good after that and we were not getting what we thought we were. The sales person literally just said "ok" and then stared at us. We asked if he needed our credit card for the refund and he said no you will get it. No refund receipt or anything was provided to us. We left with no guarantee or proof that we are getting our money returned. So, I guess we just wait a week and see if we get a refund.
SIDE NOTE: They are offering (at least at the time of our purchase on 8/22/23) FREE delivery. They don't even mention it to you as an option. They just automatically make you pay the "White Glove Delivery" fee, which for us was $399. I only discovered the free delivery option when I went online to research my sectional. I would GLADLY have unboxed and setup my own furniture to save $399. Just letting you know incase you get GLEN, who misinforms you...
