I purchased two items from Fingerlakes Furniture Warehouse. A box spring along with a bed railing/frame.
As we proceeded to set up the bed railing we noticed step two (insert plastic holders into the holes of the wheels/legs) were missing. There were no plastic pieces as the instruction called for.
The next day I went back to the store to ask them if we could get the missing pieces the instructions called for. Assuming they must have some extra in house.
The rep told me, the railing didn't come with wheels. I went on to explain that we indeed had wheels plus handed him the instruction sheet that showed wheels + plastic inserts. The rep went on to explain, wheels don't come with their railings. I began to feel crazy, less than 24 hours before I was holding onto wheels trying to get them to lock into frame.
Rather than going 20 miles home to grab the wheels, I asked him if he could possibly open another box to see what we were working with. He did so and saw the railing box came with 4 wheels.
He then went on to explain those plastic pieces are inside the railing, asking me to come and look for myself. We both saw, there were no plastic holders inside the railing.
He then said, the wheels simply go inside the whole and they will lock into place. As he showed me, we both saw they did not lock into place.
I asked him to apologize to me for telling me I was wrong about the pieces that came with the railing they sold me. He said he wouldn't apologize. In his 35 years of business he has never received a railing like the one he sold us and it wasn't his fault.
As a business owner I pay extra attention to the way other business owners treat customers. I was treated poorly and when I asked for an apology - the rep didn't have the heart.

Read moreWe spent quite a bit of time at the store checking out mattresses. While there we also saw a three piece living room set that we wanted. This shop does not offer delivery, so the owner agreed to hold the furniture so that we could make arrangements. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday and the owner said we could let him know on Wednesday. We tried calling on Tuesday to let him know about arrangements. However, no one answered and there was not an option to leave a message. I called the shop at 10 am which is when they open. At that time the owner informed me that he had sold the chair from the living room set. When I reminded him that he had agreed to hold it he insisted he had. When I said I had called when the store opened, he said he “had already been there awhile” and that someone had come that morning and paid full price for the chair. It also should be said that while talking to us about mattresses that the owner told us that he could not warranty mattresses due to COVID. We had gone to several other mattress stores none of which were voiding warranties for COVID. While we considered buying mattresses from the owner we felt he honored his commitment to us and decided to...
Read moreStopped in today to look for something and was greeted rudely by the woman who was working. She asked me what help I needed and I told her I was looking for something like a pantry with doors. She said 'no' and abruptly walked away from me. As I was leaving, I realized it was close to closing time and she must have wanted to go home. While I understand her wanting to leave on time, her rude customer service was unnecessary. I will spend my...
