Rent-A-Center — Local services in City of Auburn

Ignorant employees. Terrible interest rates. The whole company and the process is predatory. Think about it people. Rent A Center and companies like it offer things like 90 days interest free, or 6 months interest free, or 1 year interest free. Whatever "GIMMICK" program they are running to get traffic in the stores is besides the point. They ABSOLUTELY count on the customer making minimum payments so that they can end up charging 3 and sometimes even 4 times MSRP. Rent A Center WILL NOT help improve your credit, regardless of the lies the associates tell, it WILL NOT build your credit. What they WILL do though is DESTROY your credit should you totally default. They do not care about your "situation" or "hardship" this is about money in their pocket and nothing more. Additionally Rent A Center will dance on the fine lines of the FDCPA Rules and Regulations when trying to collect debts, pay attention to what you sign, fail to pay and find out. Simply put, my advice to anyone reading this. DO NOT get under Rent A Centers thumb, Rent A Center is counting on your failure to pay within the short amount of interest free time period so that they can profit off of you in a huge way. Rent A Center preys on the "instant gratification" need that exists within most people. People reading this, you CAN do better than Rent A Center. YOU ARE better than Rent A Center, there is NOTHING you need at Rent A Center that you can not live without. Use your heads guys! Think it over before spending your hard earned money at Rent A Center. My prediction is that Rent A Center and many places like it will end up folding and closing down during these uncertain economic times. People earn too much money, they don't use Rent A Center. People earn too little money, they don't use Rent A Center. It is the low middle class that Rent A Center TARGETS. As I said, I foresee Rent A Centers downfall, and soon based off of paying attention to the economy. Hopefully sooner rather than later. We can all exist without Rent A Center. Rent A Center is certainly not an integral piece of our society, once they are gone the economy and the country will carry on just fine. Vary poor never will I go back to any rent a center they call before payment is due and call multiple times a day….charging 3x the amount of what it really would be in a regular store and vary rude and nasty when I call in!!!!I found a way better place...
