It's a fine store. But the heat/lack of AC is just unbearable! It's on year-round, and they've been saying they were going to be getting it fixed, for years. I, for one would never want to work there
I would like to clarify that I'm giving this place such a low review because I would like to see more reviews like this, so that the boscov's team might actually fix the AC one day. That is a real business killer. In the winter, it's not so bad. But when it's 75+ degrees outside, the heat makes for a very unpleasant shopping experience. You can tell that even a majority of the employees don't want to be there.
UPDATE: The Boscov's team replied to my initial feedback today (7/30/25) stating they're "working on it". Yeah, you've been "working on it" for EASILY The last 5 years. I don't buy it. I personally believe we need to take this issue to the media. In a residential setting, no AC is not a code violation. But in a multi-story department store, I would think having no ac, particularly in the summer, is some sort of code violation.
I also think that people should start boycotting boscov's. I understand that it might put people out of work, due to closure of the store as a result of lack of business, but even the employees don't want to be there in this heat/ lack of AC. But maybe that's the wake-up call...

It seems every turn you take, every step you take may be your last. ie you're likely to fall through the floor. The walls and ceilings appear rotten and after taking the elevator upstairs I decided it was unsafe as well. Do not use the elevator- it is not compliant/ up to date with any safety codes. Beware the basement- I think the great flood created some black mold.
If you're willing to risk you're life entering this building, you will find 10+ year-old men's and women's fashion. Seriously, they're selling like Roca Wear & Timberland clothing from the early 2000s. Not sure who their target client is but as a 30yr old male, not me; horrendous.
As far as furniture goes there is a pretty good selection but I was accosted by an employee whom seemed to be living on the streets; he hadn't showered in a very long time and was very disheveled. His pants were about 5 sized too large and were hanging precariously low with a belt.
Fragrances selection is great but who purchases cologne/perfume in department stores anymore? Online costs are 70% less.
I'm not sure what to compare this peculiar store to; perhaps an antique store. I see Binghamton revamping everywhere. Time for a remodel of both infrastructure and...
Read moreWhile walking in to Boscovs with my daughter and granddaughter. The woman moping the floor yelled at me "you just stepped on my clean floor." I stopped dead in my tracks and started to back up saying I'm sorry I didn't realize the floor was wet. She replied "Your a liar you stepped around the cone." I apologied and she started to yell at me. Then I turned to talk to my daughter and the woman shoved me hard with her body. There was also 2 other woman there that I didn't know. Then her manager and Boscovs assistance manager came running over. The older woman that I didn't know spoke up and said "I seen that woman push her real hard. As we were separating I walked across the store with the assistant manager the cleaner continued yelling about me. We could hear her for at least 10 mins then they walked her off somewhere. Boscovs offered my and my daughter each 10 in Boscovs cash. BOSCOVS manager called me the next day and let me know they have no part of this, it's the cleaning company I need to follow up with. Nothing was ever done from which I know. Boscovs was in...
