F. Oliver's — Local services in City of Canandaigua

I live nearby. It never occurred to me - NOT ONCE - to drink olive oil. My Mom was visiting, raved about having tried different "shots" of flavored olive oil & balsamic vinegar combinations before & promised I'd love it. I went to humor her. I was beyond pleasantly surprised! The attendant (?) was SO sweet, patient while answering all my questions & ridiculously knowledgeable! We tried combinations that I never would have DREAMT of, but that I not only loved, I almost could have drank them as drinks, not just oil & vinegar! My Mom & I picked a couple bottles for salad dressings & marinades, but better yet, they had TONS of spices, too, including a blend of local spices that made the perfect gift for family members! If you love cooking, definitely check them out! If you not only don't love cooking but also think drinking olive oil is weird, STILL GO! They'll talk to you, find out what flavors you may like & then make you swoon with a free sample of an AMAZING combination of flavors that will make you forget you're drinking oil! I've been to F. Oliver's a number of times. Usually, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. I've never been told that I couldn't refill my own bottles nor have I ever been told that I couldn't use a different bottle, other than a bottle with F. Oliver's logo on it. I refilled my own bottle and was scolded for doing so. Then, was instructed to only bring back F. Oliver bottles, even though that particular bottle had a sticker from F. Oliver's on it. (They've refilled that bottle previously with no qualms). I feel that if the company doesn't want you to refill your own bottles, they should be upfront about it and advertise that...

Great experience at F. Oliver’s. First of all, the vinegars and olive oils are phenomenal. The people there are even more so. We were on our way and got stuck in traffic. ETA on GPS said we’d arrive right at/ just after closing time. We called and spoke to Linda. She said she’d ring up our order and have it ready for us and would meet us at the door.
