Superior Grocers — Local services in City of Industry

On January 11, 2024, my Mother-in-Law and I went to the Super Grocers located in the City of Industry. It’s not exactly a grocery store that we typically go to nor is there one close to us as we typically shop either at Stater Bros. or at Vons.

But we wanted to make pozole just the way my Mother made it for me growing up and wanted to purchase pork meat there. Actually, the main reason is because we are your Whitewashed Mexicans and didn’t know which meat were supposed to purchase at our White-Man Supermarkets. Please don’t take this statement out of context as it was meant to be humorous but telling the truth about us. My Mother-in-Law and I are half Mexican, but we can barely speak the language nor make authentic Mexican food as we typically have to either order it or go out to eat it.

That being said, I actually had to call my Mother to inquire specifically which pork meat to purchase. Esteban was working in your meat department that evening and had seen we were having complications in which he offered his assistance. He had me put my Mother on speakerphone to confirm that we needed pork shoulder and pork neck bones as she uses the bone marrow for the broth. I would’ve never had guessed it as this is our first time making it on our own.

Esteban was telling me everything my Mother said prior to the call and it was great knowing a Butcher that knows his trade well quite well. I was extremely impressed and grateful for his assistance. But didn’t just stop there; he further assisted in explaining the difference between the Mexican cream with salt and without. But to give us a better understanding of the difference between these two creams, he took a plastic top and dabbed a sample between the two so we could taste it firsthand.

He further assisted us in our ceviche and the queso fresco too! My Mother-in-Law and I really learned a lot and had a great time being there as we even picked up some freshly made tamales and Mexican Chips as well! All this would not have been possible without the amazing customer service from Esteban.

And because of that experience, we will begin incorporating Superior Grocer into our shopping routine now. Thank you for having such great...

Man they have everything here. Carfull if you come during rush hour this place is no joke. I would say between 630and 8pm this place is pretty packed and half of the register people are great and half are not. So that means if you choose the wrong line your going to be mad. Once your a regular you will understand who knows what they are doing vs the slow pokes. I still really love this market. They should probably beef up the staff. But the store has everything you need. Let me round them off like a revolver. The meat selection today was pretty great. If your buying a meat or something that was on the add I would recommend calling in advance. Always calm in advance if you trying to get alot of something. The price here is usually better then most places. Bulk food items are available here. I recommend stocking up on can food prices here . I think they are hiring right now too. They really just need to work on keeping the lines down or at least making sure they got the best...

I use to love shopping here, but then on Father's Day this year I slipped and fell. A pipe from the ceiling was leaking and unfortunately for me I slide about 4 feet and landed on my knee. My sister who was with me went to tell an employee and he said he couldn't do anything that we had to go look for a Manger. Ook, I couldn't put pressure on my right leg, so my sister went to the front to look for one. 2 different girls came to take pictures and get my info to file an accident report. They got me a wheelchair and told me that I would be contacted from upper management. I went to urgent care the next day and was told that I sprainedmy knee, which was affecting my whole right leg. My husband had to leave work early a few days to help care for me and our kids. Till this day, almost 3 months later and I still haven't heard from anyone about my accident. Very unprofessional!!!
