Inconsistent food. Heard about their roasted duck being very good so I went and got a full roasted duck to try it out myself. It turned out to be the worst duck I ever had. It was plump full of fat instead of lean from roasting and had an unusual smell to it. Fast forward a few weeks later; my brother brought home this amazing roasted duck for dinner. It was the best duck I ever had in my entire 40 years on this planet! I asked him where'd he get it. He told me "Kim Tar". I was perplexed and asked him "the one on Valley blvd?" He replied "yes". I'm still baffled to this day how can it be possible to experience the best/worst roasted duck at the same establishment.🤔 (Update) just found out the duck I ordered was not roasted duck but salted duck, which explains why I didn't like it.
On two other separate visits, I ordered the beef lok lak both time and they were different on those two occasion. The onions were sauteed the first time and were good. The second time around, the onions were served raw and the portion were smaller. I was still hungry after 🤨. Please be consistent with your food! Identity crisis? The menu has Angkor Wat on the front but usually, whenever you order a rice entree at a Cambodian restaurant, you get a bowl of pork bone soup on the side. Not in this...
Read moreMy most favorite dish to order here is the SeaFood Liang Mian Huang (The 2 sides stir fried noodles with gravy and SeaFood) and then my second favorite item to order here is the Large SeaFood Thick Rice Noodles Soup (Hai Sian Huh Fen Tang) and for the appetizers I like the peking duck, BBQ pork and the soy sauce chicken. The crispy pork is good and the braised pig intestines are not worth the appetizers. The braised pig intestines have a strong taste and smell, they are very chewy and they are not worth the most protein and does not taste tender like the peking duck, braised roasted duck with plum sauce, crispy pork, BBQ pork or the braised soy sauce chicken. The lobsters, clams with black bean sauce, scallops with black bean sauce and the salted peppered fried shrimp are also my favorite dishes I have tried here. I recommend mostly their traditional noodle soups or their Chow Mein even Liang Mian Huang. Their traditional House Noodle Soup comes with ground pork, pork slices, fish cakes, shrimps and a choice of either a piece of chicken or duck...
Read moreWaited forever for my dish only to realize they forgot it. My wife already got her bowl of noodles which was just sitting there. While we continued to wait, a waiter brought out dessert for us... Wth was he thinking? Does it even look like we got our food yet? You were the one to seat us! Finally after a few more minutes, they brought out my dish and just by looking at it, I knew they cut me short a few pieces. Not just a few pieces, but all the breast pieces which contains the most meat. I know what a half a duck is suppose to look like and I've eaten it a million times. Don't be trying to cheat me especially after all that you've already put us through. All I had was a lot of bones and skin. I even had to ask for the dipping sauce cuz they forgot that too!! I was pretty annoyed. Didn't want to leave a tip, but I couldn't walk out like that. Even though I like the food here, I don't think I'll ever come back. Thanks...
