When I first went for my fitting Maria made me feel so comfortable and I decided to go with her to do my alterations for my wedding. Covid happened soon after and we needed to push out our wedding she told me everything we discussed and signed on would still be the same when I needed to come back. When I finally went back to do my alterations I had just found out I was pregnant I let Maria know this and she said it was fine no problem she could work with me. I still felt very comfortable and paid for everything and went forward with my fittings. From here on out it was a nightmare, Maria was so unprofessional and unorganized she kept taking my dress in and out it never fit when I went in for my fittings and she started to blame me because I was pregnant even though I had only gained 5 pounds. I was on medication for hormones to help me keep my pregnancy but I weighed myself everyday to make sure I was not gaining to much weight. After my one fitting when she was late over an hour, unorganized, nothing was done on my dress and she had no idea about where my extra lace was that was ordered. She also had no idea my sister was there to pick up her own dress even though she had an appt scheduled and told her it was not done even though it was she just had the wrong name. My sister put the dress on the the cups were still in even though they were supposed to be taken out so Maria was upset and took them out. Once they were out the dress did not fit my sister right so she tried to talk to Maria but she got very defensive with my sister. She ended up not charging myself even though she tried to pay her. I had called to check on the lace and was told she would not be working with me anymore 3 weeks before my wedding because I was rude. I was nothing but nice the fitting before just concerned because of everything. She ended up agreeing to finish my dress but would not speak to me and let her manager do all the talking. The dress came out nice but was to big and in the sunlight my sleeves that she ordered were purple. My mother tried to pay for everything several times and they kept saying no. I would not recommend Maria to anyone else just because of how unprofessional she is.

To respond to your post after me Maria, yes there is two sides to every story and I think you are pretty delusional about what happened but I will leave it at that. I did not write this to argue back and forth I just wrote a review on how I felt about everything. If someone wants to listen they can if not that is fine but unfortunately that was my experience. Maria is amazing and a seamstress visionary! I wish I could give her 100 stars, because that is how good she is. 13 days before my wedding, I picked up my dress from a tailor in Newburgh, they had ruined the shape of my dress and it was now ill fitting. In tears, I called a few alteration places and no one was willing/able to help with the short time frame. I called the bridal shop that my bridesmaids bought their dresses from to see if she had any seamstress recommendations and she recommended Maria. Maria (my hero) told me to come in that night, even though it was after 6pm, as she could tell how stressed and upset I was. I call her a seamstress visionary, because without even telling her what I thought needed to be done to the dress, she started pinning and making her suggestions. It was like she was reading my mind. I returned less than 24 hours from my initial meeting with Maria for another fitting. She had already done some of the alterations. I knew what parts had been altered because it is my dress, but I could not tell where she had sewn, the dress looked like it came right from the designer, her work is that good! The first tailor told me a french bustle could not be done on my type of dress. Maria suggested that a french bustle would look beautiful on my dress, once again reading my mind. She also showed me an American bustle, just in case I preferred that one. She fully explained the alterations and answered any questions that I had. I've had dresses altered in the past to add cups, so you don't have to wear a bra. Maria adds a bra that she cuts and sews in, which gives you a much better look and shape. This was the first time a seamstress has made this awesome suggestion. Maria will not let her brides leave until both Maria and the bride are completely satisfied. If you think your standards are high, Maria's are even higher. 9 days after I met Maria, she had my dress fitting perfectly and wedding ready. I felt gorgeous and confident in my dress that was now hugging my curves in all the right places and I owe it all to Maria. Her work is impeccable! Maria is incredible. Honestly, I don't even know where to start. I came to her with a wedding dress and a tight deadline - about a month - and she didn't even break a sweat making it happen. It was the easiest alteration process I have ever been through as well as the best. I didn't have to go endlessly because she was so precise to begin with, which I really appreciated. The alterations were PERFECT - the dress fit me like a glove. Since my wedding was outside the country, she even went out of her way to pack the dress and veil carefully for me to reduce wrinkling, creasing, etc. so that I could ship it - an offer made freely on her part, because I had never even thought to ask her for it! She is just so thoughtful and her attention to detail and her passion for what she does shine through in her work - from start to finish. I also love how genuine she was - she told me to make sure to bring pictures to show her and when I did she was excited to see them. It wasn't just lip service; she actually cared how things turned out. That is the sort of thing that creates customers for life, and it is just natural for her.
