Food was excellent and I want to go back! I highly recommend getting the Greek iced coffee. It was frothy and strong and tasted amazing. We also ordered the dip appetizer. It's not listed as such on the menu but I recommend getting the babaganoush in place of the 'red caviar salad'. It's some of the best babaganoush I've tried, but wish the portion size was larger (or cost less, it was $17). I don't even like dolma/grape leaves that much but even they were great. I recommend the Horiatiki (village) salad to share. A spoonful of that salad to accompany your meal adds a wonderful fresh component. The gyro was flavorful, pita was soft, and the meat was tender enough for my 15 month old to eat it easily.
Overall, food tasted fresh with great flavor and our server was phenomenal. We had a high chair in the back corner near the restroom. It's a smaller place and I don't know how handicapped friendly it is as the bathroom is small (there's 2 doors to get to it, a wheelchair wouldn't fit) and a single unisex stall. We brought cash so we didn't have to pay the surcharge for using a credit card. Serving sizes aren't huge and left us wanting a little more for the cost but I still want to go back because it was delicious.
If the owner is reading this, please don't skimp on portion sizes. Especially the dip appetizer? More food should come with that, it is not enough and we quickly ate it. If it wasn't somewhat pricey, I would have ordered...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch on Saturday and we heard about this place on Wall Street in Kingston, NY, so we decided to try it. A nice little place that looks small but actually widens up when you get further in. The staff is very friendly and we were greeted by everyone as we came in and as we left. However, our review of the food is meh. I ordered a falafel pita sandwich and my wife had the chicken avocado pita sandwich. While the falafel was good, it didn't blow me away and seemed pretty ordinary. Also, the falafel and the lettuce, tomato, onion & tzatziki were on top of the pita, not inside it, which I found made the eating messy. I have had falafel in NYC many times and the places that I have gone have sliced the pita in half and put the makings inside the pockets. My wife had the same reaction to her pita, wondering why the fixings were on top of the pita and not inside. She also thought that the amount of chicken was pretty sparse and had an odd taste to it. We didn't get any dessert since my wife is allergic to nuts and almost everything had some kind of nuts. We just didn't feel there was really anything special about the food (which is not inexpensive) and it didn't make us want a...
Read moreSo I absolutely love this place! The food is awesome! However the staff a total different story. They are rude. You order food to pick up at the counter and they expect a tip no matter what. If I sit down to eat and you help me yes you deserve a tip but if I come pick the food up myself and all you do it hand it to me sorry no tip needed you didn’t do anything extra to deserve a tip! Also they took more than a week to process my card. When I called to ask about it, like why if this is normal for them ect the employee on the phone literally just said idk I just work here. How unprofessional! I asked to speak with someone who would know and she just replied oh the guy was out so they didn’t process anything till now. Ik legally they have 30 days to process the transaction however I just think it’s weird and inconvenient that they just wait over a week! They ended up putting me into the negative as I wasn’t expecting that charge right then! Beyond unprofessional employees! Awesome food! I hope they get new...
