I went into this store looking to match a gallon of paint. When I walked through the doors, a cashier yelled "what do you need!?" After saying I needed a gallon of paint mixed, I was told to hold on. The cashier got over the intercom, requested assistance in paint. Then a worker rounded a corner and barked "who needs help!?!?" After seeing the can of paint I had, he said "I don't know if I can mix that." I told him I needed something close as the area I had to do wasn't that important. He walked over to the paint aisle, looked at the paint and said that he couldn't mix something to match. I walked out. This isn't the first bad experience I had here. I went to another Valu (located on Rossler Ave in Buffalo) and the paint clerk mixed a gallon based upon the tag (that Value in Lackawanna applied) on the old can of paint. Everyone here was pleasant and helpful. If you need home improvement supplies go to that Valu Home Center or the Ace located at Abbott and Holywood. Read moreIt's nice to have a place that you can go to for the convenience. You don't always want to run to Home Depot and work your way through a gigantic massive store when you just need simple items. The downside is you're going to probably pay much more and you are extremely limited on selection. I did find that I was struggling to find things and there's an awful lot of people working. I was unable to get assistance but could see several employees hanging out in front chatting. It's a small store so it would be nice to get in and out faster without wandering around looking for things. If I wanted to do that I would save a few bucks and go 5 minutes away to Home Depot. It's probably important to remember that if you are a manager or employee of Valu that people go there and they know they spend more in order for the convenience to get in and...
Read moreOn 5/24/ 20, I purchased a Husqvarna lawn mower at approximately 3 pm. As they didn't have one in stock, I took the floor model. The sales clerk that assisted me was very helpful, but he had to call the manager over as the oil was missing that came with this machine. The manager gave us a hard time about providing the oil and after I purchased the mower and already handed over my money, he tried to get me to sign some form about not being able to return the mower due to improper gas or oil.
