My review on this hotel is mixed. Here's why: Pros: The rooms are nice, they are tastefully decorated and having a functional kitchen is nice. Breakfast was a hot breakfast, not just cereal, yogurt or pre-packaged baked goods. Con: There is only one IMO but for me it's a deal breaker. This hotel seems to be on the "Green" trend. Not sure if it is truly trying to improve the environment, or save money spent on utilities but either way, although it is only 1 item it is the reason I would not stay here again. This hotel uses motion sensors in the rooms to control the heater/AC (pics attached). As long as there is movement in the room the climate control will work, however when the room is empty it does not. This makes for a very uncomfortable room when checking in or returning to the room. Also at night when sleeping and not moving around, it tends to get uncomfortable as well. This weekend was over 80° and after attending my brother and sister-in-law's reception, all we wanted to do was go back to the room, relax and turn in for the night. We returned to a very warm room. This was a very uncomfortable night to say the very least. It is a shame because this property has so much going for it, I just can't stay somewhere where I can't feel comfortable.

So let me start off with the good... Breakfast. They actually have a wide selection, there is fruit and a yogurt bar, the eggs didn't make me sick, and the coffee was fresh and very strong. Now that that's out of the way, our room was just... Bad. We got a king suite with pull out couch for travel with our daughter. The bed is rock hard, like... Don't plop down on it you might break something hard. The sheets were stained as well. The suite has its own heating and cooling that I am pretty sure uses a rocket engine for power, and of course it's in a closet 3 ft from the end of the bed. It woke me up Every. Single. Time. The doors to the bedroom are on backwards so the lock is on the outside... But it didn't matter anyways because the lock is broken and the doors don't shut, which fit since half the lights in the room didn't work either. The room has a kitchenette with a cook stove, plates, pots cups, etc... but no silverware. But at least they had free cookies at the front desk. Speaking of the front desk, the guy who checked us in was awesome and very friendly. So at least there is that.

I had an extremely disappointing stay at Staybridge Suites Buffalo-Amherst. The room was shockingly unhygienic – rust and dirt inside the refrigerator, a stained and dirty toilet, a greasy and filthy stovetop, a broken refrigerator vent, and a disgusting garbage disposal unit. Photos have been submitted as evidence. When I approached the front desk to report these serious issues, the staff member (possibly named Kathy or Kelly) was rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. Her exact response was "I don’t build hotel walls, I can’t do anything," — an unacceptable reaction to genuine guest concerns. I booked this property through Expedia, expecting a certain standard of quality and customer service. This experience was not only far below that standard — it was entirely unacceptable. Rooms in this condition should never be rented out. I strongly urge Expedia to reevaluate this listing and consider removing it. Continuing to offer such properties damages customer trust and reflects poorly on the platform. Avoid this hotel if you care about cleanliness, professionalism, or basic hospitality.

This is our second year staying at staybridge as a family of 6. We were disappointed this time around though, which is saddening because we had a wonderful experience in 2018.

Pros: The suites are fantastic sizes for big families. We have four children. We got our own bed and bathroom, the kids had two beds and a bathroom as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster oven and toaster. There may have been a dishwasher too, but I can't remember. There was a sink to wash your dishes and cupboards stocked with pots, pans, silverware, mugs etc. The fridge is full size and the freezer is nice size too. The room included a pack of microwave popcorn wiki have the kids were excited about and coffee/tea was great for my husband and myself.

Cons: The pool and hot tub were filthy. There was dirt on the inside of the hot tub and there were fragments of something on the floor of the pool that you felt in some areas when you walked. The beds in the room were rather uncomfortable, not for people with back issues for sure. The TVs were pretty small in the rooms. The breakfast quality was awful. Fake round eggs, burned English muffins and sausage was the main meal. The variety of breakfast wasn't good. The man filling the breakfast buffet was really rude and seemed annoyed when I asked him for juice for my kids. (The juice machine was broken our entire stay).

We did love that they had a social hour at night with wine, beer and salad. Although we weren't able to participate because we have children, we would have loved to had we brought a sitter along. The salad bar got good use from my 4 year old Son who loves salads, so that was a great dinner for him. The room itself is fantastic. The showers are big and have full size pump bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash. It's more than accommodating for big families and didn't make us feel so crammed with 4 active kids like other hotels do. We weren't confined to one small room, which is why we will continue to use staybridge for our sanity, haha.

One HUGE complaint I have is noise. The walls and doors are so thin, you hear everything. And when you have a one year old trying to sleep- kids running down the hallways or housekeeping in the next room banging everything around can' result in a difficult sleeping time for any little child sensitive to noise. There was also a constant draining sound in both the bathrooms all night long. It's in the ceiling and it's the most annoying sound ever. Every few minutes in makes this loud clapping noise and we had to close both the bathroom doors because it was so distracting.

For what we paid for one night, I wasn't impressed with the value or the service of food, cleanliness of pool/hot tub and discomfort if our sleep.

Would we stay again? Yes. All because the size and accessibility of a full sized kitchen that makes you feel more at home than in a hotel. I hope by next year, they amp up the complaints to make it feel like you're really getting everything...

We booked multiple rooms, one 2 bedroom suite and one 1 bedroom suite.

Positives: Room size was ok, clean and as per the description online. Breakfast was a bit diff everyday and we liked every time. It was great. Social time (dinner) in the evening was great. 2 Bedroom suite had 3 TVs and 1 bedroom on had 2 TVs, basically one TV in each room which was really great for privacy. Check-in was great. Some of my extended family members reached earlier but were able to check in although it was booked under me. The receptionist took my details and matched with what I booked and let them in. This was great.

Negatives: 2 bedroom suite had immediate issues which should have been checked while inspection before guest comes in like plumbing and lighting issues. One of the bathroom had plumbing issues which took almost 2 days to resolve. 1st night, we were given an extra room by the receptionist because of the plumbing issue which was generous but that was it (good service ended right there). Day 1 receptionist was really nice and helpful and I can give full marks to only him. Next day when issue was not resolved, they did not even let us know that we cannot access the extra room and when we went to take bath, we realized access was revoked without informing. They did try to fix this plumbing issue but could not on Day 2. We let the receptionist know that we are out for whole day so they can fix it whenever possible. We came back and without checking we asked the receptionist (late in the night when we returned) if the issue was fixed, she said it was not due to unavailability of plumber. We checked the next morning and realized it was actually fixed at night itself which tells me the staff does not even care or have any coordination for the tasks on hand. On another occasion we requested room service, they only did a touch up citing unavailability of staff. 1 bedroom had broken table (I believe we did not report this as we were not using that much). Location is a bit outskirt. Staybridge Amherst location is better but it was giving 2 double beds instead of queen in one of the bedroom in the 2 bedroom suite hence we had to chose this one.

Overall the stay was good if I remove the service and plumbing issues. We had a great time otherwise, met/stayed with our extended family after...

We loved our first one-night visit, place for kids to rest half way through our trip. We chose because light dinner meal and Breakfast are included, kids love the two room suite.

Please note that our stay was one-night, not extended stay. The hotel is PERFECT for extended stays. I feel a little bad writing this review since we only stayed one night, but this time, our visit was disappointing.

First of all, NY State Thruway view room, way too much traffic noise (trucks) kept wife and one child up very late.

The food offering at the Social Evening Reception was uneatable, potato skins were dry with old melted cheese that had solidified, canned chili, canned cheese sauce - YUK! "Greek Salad" no Feta, no olives, ranch dressing, sliced tomatoes #obviously from a hamburger garnish tray# Just terrible - not even close to a Greek salad. Ended up ordering out for dinner which added cost to the trip.

Breakfast - I watched an unaccompanied child sneeze into his hand and they rifle through the bagels with the same hand. - yum! The fruit in the fruit salad was hard and tasteless, powered scrambled eggs, some kind of sausage, but not appropriate for breakfast. Soggy French toast sticks #steamed to a limpness that resembled overcooked pasta#. Yogurt, OJ and fresh made Waffles saved the day - the make-yourself Waffles are WONDERFUL!

One of two elevators was closed for new tile installation, which was scheduled at the same time new roles of carpet were delivered and installed on 3rd floor. Line at single working elevator - guests and carpet installers with 12' wide carpet rolls.

On the plus side, the kids enjoyed the pool, great cookies at the front desk, very friendly and helpful staff, good coffee. Rooms clean and comfortable #except for traffic noise#. We will be back, so I would recommend this property based on our first visit, which was wonderful. Our first visit was during the summer, outdoor grilled hamburgers for evening reception were great - kids really enjoyed.

Since we only stayed one night, I can not comment on daily housekeeping, but our room was clean upon arrival.

Kudos to the staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping and maintenance staff, everyone is friendly and respectful - made us feel...
