La Placita Market/C-Town Peekskill — Local services in City of Peekskill

Prices are too high for a community store- supermarket. Beware, Some items with expiration dates are close to the expired date or past. I aways tend to reach in the back for items and I always look at the dates if I make a purchase. Store does tend to have a meat and fish smell from the back butcher area. Wish those two areas were separate. I only tend to come in for the high priced, of course imported few international products. Or quick one stop shop for a needed food item. Store is always busy so... Many prices listed on sign always tend to be higher then stated. Or, you'll have most items with no price and you'll stand there wondering if you should buy it knowing it will be higher because they have no prices listed. I have fallen victim to this plenty of times either putting item back at check out or getting it because I forgot to check the price at check out and reach home and realize I paid too much. Staff feel like your always being watched. I guess the manager/ security is always standing in the front or mid check out to see if anyone is stealing? I'm not sure. I guess this place tends to get enough thieves or something 🤔 just feels like they are looking at the wrong person when I walk in. Also of course no free parking area for quick...

There is a lot in this little supermarket and I really appreciate the convenience and location. They carry yummy flavors of Haagen-Dazs like pineapple coconut and rum tres leches. I also like the small selection of flowers and the bakery. They have sushi, hot food, etc. Fresh meat and seafood market in the back. I haven’t tried everything but they manage to offer a lot in a small space and the aisles have just enough room to not feel cramped in my opinion. I have been shopping here since they were on main street where the new firehouse is now. Most times the Store is fully stocked and I can mostly find what I need including speciality items. Prices are not horrible but some could be better. Staff can be a bit off putting at times. You can clearly see the comfort dealing with their Latino customers compared to non-latino customers.
