Read moreIf you come here dumb, desperate, and delusional and stay that way—you’ll be fine—but if you really need help with housing, supportive wrap-around services, therapy, or anything beyond their elementary understanding of the Bible, you can forget it. This place thrives on an outdated representation of yesteryear while being completely unprepared to handle the challenges of the 21st century.
No one here is capable of addressing complaints about loud shower noise past 10 PM, mail tampering, rude and uneducated staff, unqualified individuals lecturing and preaching the Bible, or simple maintenance requests like proper cleaning or installing correctly sized shower curtains to prevent water puddles in the bathroom. Read morethis place strives to be a haven for people who are lost ,starving and in seek of recovery. I was apart of both the short and long term programs. If you're seeking employment and a place to stack your money and be safer than you would be on the streets I advise taking the short term program. If you're seeking recovery and to be apart of something that gives back to the community and become a productive positive person I would advise the long term program. Both have their pros and cons but def more advantages on the pros. Staff will assist you to get you back on your feet if you put the work in. If you slack and don't participate you will be packed up because there are people who are literally dying to be in the position that you're in. Place is a blessing and I will stay connected.
P.S: Please Always thank the people who work in the cafeteria they go through hell so the community does not go without a meal. I learned valuable lessons from the cafeteria crew and appreciated every meal.
