3/11/22 PREPAID $150 for bicycle cleaning and maintenance 3/19/22 I dropped off my bicycle to Todd of Black River Adventure Shop. (An initial look over was done and it was determined not much would have to be done because the bicycle was two years old) 4/13/22 I called to see the status of my bicycle but was unable to leave a voice message because the mail box was full 4/15/22 I called Todd that stated the bicycle was in the queue of someone that was out sick and that he would move it to someone who was available. He stated that the bicycle should “be ready not this weekend(4/22-24) but next weekend(4/29-5/1).” 5/10/22 I called Black River Adventure Shop with no answer. 15 minutes later I stopped by and Todd was eating at the desk. He gave me an excuse that my bicycle was in the queue of an employee that got fired and that he personally would put my bicycle in his stand today. He stated that it should be ready in two days. Also while I was there the phone rang, he noticed the number, ignored it, and then proceeded to tell me why that customer was calling. 5/18/22 I returned and asked about the status of my bicycle. After about a minute of the owner looking at the computer surprised I just cut to the chase and told him that I saw my bicycle in the same spot it was put two months prior and not completed. Read moreDropped my bike off for service on the 12th of June and was quoted 2 weeks for a full tune up with a new chain, tires and drive train check to see if any needed to be replaced (I ride anywhere from 100-150 miles per week). I was going to be out of town until the 16th of July, so I let them know I would pick it up that day, and gave them mine and my wife's number to contact about any parts they found that needed replacing, or other issues. Called on the 16th, and there was no answer, so I went to the shop. My bike was not ready, and was told that they were "still waiting on the tires." I was then told it would be ready the next day. Called the next day, still not ready. Called on Wednesday, and its finally ready to be picked up (they had not ordered the parts until I got there on the 16th). So, I go pick up the bike, but the bill is incorrect; they forgot the tires on the billing. Since I'm not a dick, I got that straightened out, packed up and went home. Later that night, took the bike out for a ride. It handled fine on the flat 30 mile route I rode along the River from Watertown to Carthage. However, I rode today on a hillier, curvier 30 mile course and it was terrible - constantly slipping gears, threw the chain 3 times, and shifts worse under pressure now than before I took it in. One star only - The staff was friendly and they discounted the work they did by 30% but I am going to have to have it re-tuned, so I cannot recommend the service tech to others who ride...
Read moreI found a cheap magna charger mountain bike missing a left crank arm and pedal. Went here asked the lady if they can fix it. She bluntly said we dont fix that here thats a walmart special. I said can you order the part. She gave me the dont bother me sigh and said $35. Plus labor and moved on. then some guy in the shop walks up and said oh i started riding with a bike like that but busted it so i came here and bought this $600.00 bike.
