Dealing with Walgreen's pharmacy is an exercise in frustration and incompetence. Every time I go there there's an issue. One time they called and said my Rx was filled. I received 5 out of 90 tablets and had to pay the full copay up front. The next week I got 10 more and a week after that I finally got the rest of the script. More than once I was notified that my script was ready, only to get there to find it's "almost ready". Please drive around and get at the back of the line. It "should be" ready when you get back to the window. God help you if, while waiting in line, they close the window altogether for lunch break.
My Doc called in an antibiotic, very common and in good supply, 24 hrs ago. It's still not ready. The person on the phone seemed to be totally unconcerned about the importance of starting an antibiotic sooner rather than later. On average, Walgreens pharmacy is open 3.5 fewer hours per week day than other pharmacies. Today they opened over an hour later than usual. In order to pick up a script you have to work around their schedule. They open later and close earlier. At midday they take a break they and are closed.
Every other pharmacies manages to stay open during the day with pharmacists getting their lunch break. Why does the pharmacy cease to function in the middle of the day? Can't the pick up window be manned? It seems like it takes up more time to shut down and then reopen. Today I was told the reason my script wasn't filled is bc they've been very busy. Maybe if they kept competitive hours with other pharmacies, they could get more done, in a timely fashion.

Read moreThis Walgreens has repeatedly told me my prescriptions would be ready (I call a couple hours prior to picking up), and when I arrive they say the prescription can’t be filled for several days. I drive 30 minutes from a different town to use this pharmacy due to the scarcity of pharmacies in the area.
There was another occasion when the prescription I picked up from there was faulty. I brought the prescription back and was told they wanted to hold onto the medication and for me to call back in a couple days when the pharmacy manager was scheduled to work. When I called, the pharmacy manager told me it is against their policy to take prescriptions back once they leave the establishment….furthermore I was met with passive aggressiveness in the form of the pharmacy manager telling me that for all she knew, I somehow mishandled the prescription after leaving and that could be the reason it was faulty…
I wasn’t expecting much when I called. Maybe some customer service. I certainly wasn’t expecting to be met with accusations and informing me that I shouldn’t have left the prescription there when that’s what the on duty pharmacist told...

I had brought in every beauty item with me that I needed to buy and she looked at each item and the specific color, and found them within seconds! And even helped me look for other shopping needs and recommend products for me to get also! I never had such a fantastic experience like I did! She walked me through each isle and showed me where it was, and even cashed us out and explained how the Rewards point system worked! And I was able to redeem them and save money also!
