I'll preface this by saying that I've been here several times over the years and the tacos are excellent. If I had just ordered tacos the last time I went, my review would be 5-star. However, I stopped by the other evening. They had a specials board up that included "Tortitas de Camarones," which translates to shrimp cakes or small shrimp tortas. I ordered them to try something different and they were awful. Spongy, moist, fishy pucks in a tomato based sauce, with rice and beans to the side. Not even a hint of a piece of shrimp. I'm an unfussy eater and rarely send something back. I could have eaten the rice and beans and been generally satisfied, but the shrimp pucks were inedible and I didn't feel like paying $18 for a side of rice and beans. I sent the dish back and ordered tacos instead (pollo and el pastor--both delicious). When the bill came, they charged me for the $18.00 shrimp pucks plus the tacos. I told the waitress that, while I could pay for both, I didn't think it was right. After checking in the back, she said that they had to charge me because they had to throw the food out. I told her that they shouldn't charge for something that was sent back because it was not good, but I wasn't going to make a scene. Perhaps something was lost in translation, but I was surprised and disappointed. Two stars because the tacos are excellent, and food on other people's tables looked good as well. Sad because I always enjoyed going there but won't be back...

I was craving a shrimp burrito and after looking at reviews for several places in Yonkers (where I now live), I decided on this place because it looked authentic and the reviews on the food are pretty good.
I ordered a shrimp burrito to go ($17 plus tax). It came with a side salad, green salsa, a SPICY HOT red salsa, and a side of crema (actual crema not sour cream, YUM!). The burrito was very good and definitely satisfied my craving! The salsas that accompanied it were very good too! My only gripe was that the burrito was not wrapped in foil nor wax paper, making it messy to eat with my hands. They packed a plastic fork and knife in the bag but unless it’s a wet burrito, I prefer to eat a burrito with my hands. I’m guessing that since it was more of a “plate meal” with its side salad, they wanted the presentation to be better. Next time I go there for a burrito, I’ll ask them to wrap it for me. But next time, I’m ordering the steak nachos.
I’m looking forward to trying many of their dishes and will...

Disappointed Tacos On Hudson is closed on Mondays, my coworkers and I looked for some well-reviewed but affordable Mexican Food for lunch. We didn’t want to hurt our wallets too badly(Taco Project was first thought, but they don’t have lunch specials) so we settled on this little place nestled on a corner on Nepperhan Avenue in South Yonkers.
Not much to look at from the outside or inside, the smells permeating from the restaurant definitely lured me in. The staff was super friendly and the food was quite delicious for the most part. The chicken in the tacos were well seasoned, but the steak was very dry and chewy. With hours of 8AM-2PM I tossed this up to either an old batch or I just caught them on an off day.
It is hard to complain about the food here, especially when 2 tacos, rice, and beans only cost $6.50. The food was authentic and tasty and is a great little spot for quick on-the-go, affordable authentic Mexican. This is definitely a TO-GO style place. Not the formal dine-in type for those thinking of bringing in a date.
