Yonkers County Family Court — Local services in City of Yonkers

Sad to say but Yonkers Family Court needs to be done away with... there are less than a handful of judges that actually do the true and honest work of a judge... the rest are affiliated with crooks and let abusers get away with every and anything. We have children being murdered by the parents that are being given chance after chance when the signs are completely present... What is going to be done after that happens? NOTHING!!!! Judge Hahn was a God send who actually did her job and I couldn't be more appreciative of her being fair and actually taking facts into consideration... FACTS SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED... If a parent is dangerous, then that needs to be taken into consideration. As far as the phone situation, you will NEVER get a live person with the main number. I called everyday for a month and nothing. I then came across another review who stated that she contacted another court and they assisted her so I followed suite. I cannot thank the receptionist who answers the phone for Support in White Plains, you are the most awesome helpful worker within a Westchester Court system and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your help. I have experienced Yonkers Family court before they moved to this location. It saddens me that when calling for a question, no one picks up the phone. I found that calling White Plains, family court, is the best way to go. They are very helpful and answer the phones. When you appear for a hearing it seems it's first come (with both parties present) first serve. They don't start until it seems 9:30 am or 10:am. you go through a metal dector. You go to the window and make sure you have your identification out. They yell it all the time. Then you wait until someone calls your name. Bring your phone charger as it does take a long time for them to call your case. Turn the volume down on your cell phone (just don't turn it off, my mistake). you go into these small glass window rooms and it's your little courtroom. It would be great if, Yonkers family court didn't adjourn things months away. Many people have been waiting for years to hear a case, because the court system is backup. The lady that answers the phone the court clerk kaseithia hawitt is rude. She don’t know how to talk to people. You don’t know what type of day someone is having it’s already difficult dealing with court cases. For people that work there to answer the phone in a rude manner is disrespectful, then you hang up on that person. RUDE RUDE RUDE. If you don’t like your job change it. You are working with people in the court house for that matter. Why should anyone have to deal with a disrespectful clerk. This is why people in the world get hurt. Learn to talk to people with respect. I will do everything in my power to keep reporting her until I leave this county. Give respect al all times it’s ok to be kind.
