Went to the store today with my daughter to find a dress. Zero help from the staff, but my daughter found a dress she kind of liked. When checking out, the sales person rolled the $78 dress into ball and shoved it Into a plastic bag. All of this while talking to the other sales person never making eye contact with me other than telling me to swipe or tap my card. After that, we went over to The Giving clothing store, where we had an amazing experience with the salesclerk who went out of her way to help us, making, great suggestions and was super patient while my daughter tried on the outfits. When checking out, she carefully folded up the four dresses my daughter loved, placing a piece of tissue paper between them And gently placed them into a nice paper bag. It was a great experience. The dresses cost the same price as the Grove, but the experience was so much better. At that point, I decided to return the dress from the Grove, It had only been 45 minutes and I was sure it would be no problem since it was still waded up in their plastic bag. When returning, I got the exact same sales clerk as the one that checked me out, but of course she had no memory of the transaction, who informed me that I would not be getting my money back to my credit card, but instead a store credit even though it had been less than an hour since I purchased the dress. To their credit, they do have this policy posted near the cash register if you look really hard to find it. They do not tell you this at the time of check out though. I did ask if they could make an exception since it had not even been an hour, but they told me “No” as she dug the wrinkly ball of a dress out of their bag. It was then that I realized that their customers probably realize the mistake they made purchasing items from the store and tried to return their purchases often and this is why they need a rigid store policy. As a resident of Claremont, I really do try to shop in town. It’s the personal touches that make this a special town and the sense of community. But this store could care less, which makes it very hard to continue to go there. Especially when there’s other stores in town that will really bend over backwards for your business and have amazing customer service. Who want you to return. The Grove should take note from The Giving, and learn a few things about...

As we shopped they kept reminding us that we were the last customers they were taking in. Both female and male employees were extremely rude. As we left the store because I felt very harassed, they mocked us the...
