I stopped at this humble spot just to check out the fresh produce and found a whole new world. The freezer offers various phyllo doughs and baklava dough. The variety of fresh breads and banana bread is amazing--close to the section for sale price on day old rolls, buns, and bread, just one more element of a European market. Today it is too chilly to use the outdoor veggie and fruit bins, so everything is inside. The packages section offers candies, flours, cookies, crackers, pastas, and everything food prep from many countries. I found items from Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, and so many more. The local market ambiance is very quaint. I found the clearance sections of 5 for $1 lemons and soft apples. Staff is helpful. Co-owner Eva, wife of namesake John, highlighted the people from many countries as well as native Floridians frequent this place. The assortment of shopping carts out front make me think that people left them in the store lot fomr other places. Just another touch here Entrance and free parking lot are wheel chair accessible. The quaint store shelves are not really accessible, but that section is small and staff...
Read moreI drive past three produce markets just to go to one of the cleanest, friendliest, and freshest markets in the Pinellas area. Every time I go, I'm greeted with a warm welcome and everyone goes out of their way to make sure I have everything I need. John, the son, is extremely helpful and will educate me on how to cook something or with product ingredients if I don't know what something is.
You will not see a single fruit fly and will never smell a rotten fruit. They're exceptionally clean and take pride in their store. It shows!
The comments about wearing a mask... there is a sign on the door that clearly states they're required. If you don't feel comfortable going out in public, stay home. I choose to shop there and feel safe being in the store, because it is so clean. I'm grateful to have such a great place to find everything I need (and fresh) for a weeks worth of groceries at a very...
Read moreTry to check out his Market, soon! Fantastic. Quite a large selection of fresh fruits and vegetables daily, disguised behind such a small location! What they offer is so much bigger! Fresh breads, specialty foods, home made special dishes from various local private vendors, including a large variety of ethnic foods. They also have a fresh dairy case, offering different types of eggs, milks, and other farm fresh foods. Everyone there is very helpful, friendly and polite. This is a family owned and operated market. The son goes out on their truck to pick up the fresh fruits and vegetables they sell. When I ask about the taste or sweetness of various types of fruits and vegetables I'm not familiar with, he always gives me a great description of what to expect, if I haven't tried their fresh produce before. Plenty of parking, including...
