Target Grocery — Local services in Clearwater

I actually like Targets. You know how you feel when you go into a store. You get a kind of feeling, atmosphere about the place. Target is pretty clean and has a nice selection. Its not bad. Prices are okay. Nothing to blow your socks off but good variety at an okay price. Its not Walmart but its also not Publix, who is double Walmart prices for almost everything except the subs. I always feel like I must be desperate to shop at Publix. Its fast and dirty. But if you like saving cash, you go to Walmarts. After that maybe Target. Target has about the same stuff as Super Walmart. Its just a little more money. You can tell when you are getting deals. You know your prices. Ice Cream is an easy 40% cheaper. Stuff like that. Back to Target. I like that it is clean. But thats not why we shop there. I would say #1, deals and #2. Variety. #3. quality. Thats my take for most people around. I think Target has some of each of those points so they are frequented. My wife likes to go there for Clothes shopping. Me I like their food choices. But I would not go out of my way to go to Targets if its 2 or 3 miles farther. So lets go back to quality, which for some is the most important thing. If Target worked on their quality and quantity (lower prices) they could compete but I don't think they compete very well. The place is never super busy when I go there. Walmart is a different story. Wouldn't we all like a high quality dollar store that had the variety of Walmart? If you want all that, go to another country because you may be happier. But shockingly, if you go overseas, in some countries, they don't even have potatoe chips much less frozen foods. In Hong Kong Frozen foods have not been invented yet. By the way, in Hong Kong their #1 store is 7-11. Holy ..... Really. Every street corner. I don't get it? Its smaller than our gas station stores. That's because they show fresh. aka. in the street markets. If Target wants to go crazy and capture the whole towns interest, have an outdoor in your parking lot, fresh food market where you have lots of cheaper items. Booommmmmmmm. Wagon Wheel used to have that at their flea markets. Quantity for cheap. Great for big families. These come again grocers are all the same and they are not long for this world. I shopped at Target at this location this morning. I returned home and noted that the cashier did not place a purchased bag of groceries in my cart. I called this store EIGHT times and no one would answer the phone. Not Customer Service, not the bakery, not electronics, not the pharmacy, not optical. I just wanted a live person to talk to. Incredibly POOR...

Good selection of merchandise at fair and sometimes bargain prices. Only disappointment was the only food vendor was Starbucks and I'm a diabetic who can't have caffeine. A hot dog would have done in a pinch or a tuna salad sandwich like the old Target...
