Great location! Friendly staff. Breakfast is incredible with coffee to match! The restaurant (opens at 5pm) has excellent food that tastes better than fast food for the same amount of $ or less. Marcy and Jennifer who work the front desk are phenomenal! Just how down to earth they are, professional yet not robotic and unpersonal. Clearly property management recognizes great workers with great personalities, considering they hired two above-and-beyond, customer friendly and gracious employees like these two!
Update (1week later):
The staff let a random person into my room and all of my belongings, including a $3k laptop, some newly purchased items online, wat h, earrings, shoes, nice clothes, my work tools and other belongings ALL GONE! The Hotel Manager was no help and wouldnt return ANY of my calls or messages, even dodged the officers who were investigating the theft. I left 4 msgs with the fron and took 3 personal visits during lunch in hopes to see the cameras and get answers as to how someone was able to get into my room. They told me, as well as the responding officers, that the cameras werent working, which was a lie because later that day, I have photo and video evidence showing the cameras worked fine later the following day. They lied because they didnt want to take accountability for letting a stranger into my room and didnt even check ID or bother to che k with me first. So while I was at work, the person robbed all of my stuff, were smoking and parting in my room. I tried to speak to someone higher than this Nadia person, but I was getting nowhere at all. They just really didnt care.
I wouldnt wish this on anyone! So if you value your belongings and dont want someone getting into your room and stealing your stuff while your gone, DO NOT STAY at this HOTEL! The matter isnt over and we will get justice and find out who was responsible for over $4k worth of belongings that were stolen from me while I was at work busting my behind, with the notion that my stuff was SAFE in the hotel room.
If I dont tell it now, it could happen to someone else. Since I couldnt reach any Regional or corporate person to assist, and had given Nadia and the staff ONE TOO MANY opportunities to help, but instead they would ignore me or call Nadia and let her know I was in the lobby waiting for her, so she would just acoid me, I bow have to warn EVERYONE that this is not a safe place to be. Ive been safer in run down hotels at half the cost. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. They obviously dont check ID or even verify details only the renter would know at the very least. All it takes is a keycard and saying...
Read moreWhat you should know: Marcie, the very nice Front Desk agent, made it very clear that hotel policy is that there are absolutely no early check-ins before 4pm. Not even for Choice Priveleges Gold or Diamond Elites. She also mentioned that upgrades to a suite were available for $30.00.
The property was built in 1970 and was renovated in 2009 with both motel type and hotel type rooms and suites. It is currently undergoing additional renovations which are very much needed. I found these renovations to be negatively affecting some of the rooms.
The motel rooms are two story outside access and the suites are 3 story interior hallway, elevator access, and are built around a very nice pool that guests appeared to be enjoying very much.
I found the King room to which I was assigned after climbing up a filthy staircase and crossing through a construction zone. After struggling with the key card I entered and immediately deemed it to be unacceptable, due to it’s appearance, smell, and outside noise and debris, so I returned to the front desk and asked to be upgraded to a suite for $30.00 additional. (I had prepaid for the room with no refunds or cancellation, so I was going to spend the night there, regardless.)
If you are familiar with Choice Hotels, I can best describe this property as in between a 2 Star Econo Lodge and a 4 Star Country Inn & Suites, in both room quality and price.
Good points of the suite: AC was excellent. The King Bed and bedding was excellent. The kettle made very hot water. The microwave was new. The refrigerator was clean and cold. The two flat screen TVs were fine. The floor was newly installed wood-like composite. There is a lanai with wicker chairs accessed from doors in both rooms that overlooks the pool.
Not so good: The hotel hallways are dim and dingy. The elevator floor is in disrepair. (See photo) The furnishings, though clean and serviceable, are old and tired: Cabinets, desk, dresser, drawers, vanities & lighting., The bathroom was clean but tired as well, with a bathtub shower and curtain. (Fully renovated and modern Choice Hotel properties have glass enclosed walk-in showers with modern fixtures.)
Breakfast, available from 6;30 to 9:30, was typical of all Choice Hotels . Perfectly acceptable and of good quality with ample choices.
With the $30.00 upgrade added to the original $104.00 room cost, a modern room in a Choice Hotel 4+ Star property can be booked for about $20.00 more.
Hope this helps with your decision, Check out my photos...
Read moreWhen we attempted to open the room that was assigned to us the door would not open. The young lady at front desk re-programmed the keys twice more for us and the door still would not open. She assigned us to a different room. (Aug. 28, 2025)
The second room we were assigned allowed us in. the next day, however, the door jam lock had a screw protruding outward not allowing the door to close properly. We called for maintenance who discovered they had to retrieve a longer screw than what was already in the door because it was too short to screw into the damaged wood in the door jam. (Aug. 29, 2025)
We were awakened by maintenance men working in the two rooms on either side of us AT 7:00 AM. They talked, laughed, banged walls and tools throughout the morning until we left the room for breakfast in the hotel around 9:00 AM before going to our sister's scheduled wedding. (Aug. 30, 2025)
The remote control lost its ability to change channels or turn the television off because the batteries stopped working. We called the front desk but it was after Maintenance hours and we, therefore, could not get replacement batteries. Batteries were never delivered to us. (Aug. 30, 2025)
A woman from Housekeeping hammered on our door AT 10:30 AM multiple times before my husband could dress and open the door to tell her we had arranged a 1:00 PM check-out time. She said "Okay". Then THAT SAME WOMAN came back 30 minutes later, at 11:00 AM!! I answered the door this time and made it crystal clear with my displeasure and my index finger indicating 1:00 PM was our check-out time. She did not come back after that. Another woman, we surmised a supervisor, came to knock on and open the door at 1:00 PM while we were sitting and watching her from our car before we headed to the front desk to complete our check-out. (Aug 31, 2025)
We informed the front desk personnel ladies about the various situations during our stay and we were informed that there have been MULTIPLE complaints about a "rude and persistent" Housekeeping lady over the past month or so but no one has been able to identify the woman. I was willing to have the Housekeeping staff people be called to the front desk so we could identify her but my husband said due to bad weather he wanted to get on the road as quickly as possible and hopefully bypass some of the rain that had begun to fall much earlier this morning.
