Husband and I came in for my birthday with a Groupon for massages and facials for 90 min that we got for Christmas. We called ahead and asked for two females. We came in a little late from the traffic and they thankfully still took us. Like other reviewers, I had to pay $10 for the tax (which I wouldnât know if itâs true since we didnât buy the Groupon). They also told us we would get a 30 minute massage and 60 minute facial, which I didnât like but felt positive since I did need a facial.
We got our massages and my masseuse did not talk or ask me about pressure level, injuries, or how I was feeling. The hands were callused, breathing very rapid and loud, and I felt like I was getting roughly pressed through the table, which was uncomfortable. I was impressed with them using only hands and finding knots. They only massaged my back and arms.
My husbandâs masseuse was a woman and asked him if he wanted a longer massage for extra $ since it was ending soon. Mine didnât ask but tapped me to flip over. I was shocked to see a man in a facial mask (I saw other reviews with this as well and shouldâve looked before)! I quickly covered my chest. He looked away and covered me in the blanket and ran out. A female facialist then ran in. I was uneasy from the swap but tried to relax.
She cleansed my face and applied products and gave a basic facial massage. I wish she showed me and told me what was being put on my face. She put a menu in my face saying I was dry and she could give me a discount on a collagen mask. I declined, then she did extractions and put a net on my face. Someone came in and put a mask all over face and mouth and they didnât tell us how long we were to wait. We laid there anxious, not knowing when it would be removed or what was next. Mask was removed after 15-20 minutes. We got dressed and saw a wordy sign for minimum tip and tipped on card.
I would not come back as I was so uncomfortable with a man massaging me, it was not relaxing from the lack of communication and the add ons presented in service (as seen in other reviews). I wish they told us they only had one female masseuse and asked before the service about any add ons, pressure, and injuries (even if itâs...
Read moreI purchased a coupon for a coupleâs Swedish massage. Initially, everything seemed nice, the staff was friendly, and waiting 15-20 minutes after arrival wasnât a big deal. However, once the massage began, they did push us to pay extra for a hot stone massage in the middle of massage. My bf and I both declined. I couldnât understand why they were persistently pushing for extra purchases instead of focusing on the massage. Furthermore, during the massage, I received massages on both my front and back sides, however, my boyfriend only received a massage on his back sides.
After paying $8 for tax, they gave me with a tipping menu board, which made me feel pressured to tip a specific amount (I canât recall the exact amounts, but it was something like $15 for good, $20 for great, and $25-$30 for perfect). And the staff suddenly became cold and glare at me.
Iâve had massages at other place where they kept me relaxed and proceeded without requesting additional charges.
The massage wasnât bad, However push extra payments from new customers doesnât seem good for the business in the long run. If they had simply provided the massage without trying to purchase, customers would likely enjoy and return...
Read moreTerrible experience. I paid and tipped very well in advance for a deep tissue massage, which the lady at the desk assured me would be strong and would also be by a man because of his strength. It was by far, the worst massage I've ever had. I asked several times for improvement or for a switch in massage therapist. Every time I asked, it just got worse. Finally the woman came in and asked me how everything was. When I told her what was going on, she a Looked at my back and told me that I was just too strong and that she recommended that I get the cupping experience. She asked if I'd like to try that and I agreed and then she told me that it would cost $100 But I could do it for $50. I told her to just have the massage finished by someone else, but she would not do that. I laid there for a full hour, contemplating whether or not to leave. When I looked at their list of services, I was really looking forward to coming back . Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Also, for reference, I normally Go to Morgan's spa in Fort Lee, which is a fraction of the price and you get...
