I used to really enjoy this place. I used to drive out of my way an extra 20 minutes just to go to gamers gauntlet. I went there tonight, 12/17/2018. I have never had a worse experience. The guy with the curly black hair kind of long, wearing the converse was a jerk. Made assumptions and just treated me poorly. Was trying to sell some cards and keep what the store didn't want. I'm an entrepreneur so I get it the store has to make money which I 100% understand. I took a gamble and was trying to make a little extra money off individual cards. I walked in a bit tired but over all in a great mood really. The second I met this guy, it all went down hill. I wanted to purchase some individual magic cards, card sleeves, a mat to play on and some board games and se gift cards for some friends for the holidays. I sold a few cards, and didnt finish the rest. It was an extremely poor experience. I have never been treated so poorly in gamers gauntlet before, it's unbelievable. When I used to played magic consistently I would spend HOURS in the store and spend a few hundred or so and from this point forward I'm no gonna drive out of my way for gamers gauntlet. I'm just gonna go to Eternal games or Guild of Blades from now on. You never know what kind of business you're gonna lose. Each customer's valuable and when they havent done anything wrong them you should treat them how you would like to be treated. Have a good one and change your attitude and demeanor...

I'm always happy to support small businesses, especially in the trading card / gaming space, its scarce as it is. Staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, the prices were significantly higher than what I'd expect from a local shop â in many cases well above market value. While the atmosphere was nice, it's hard to recommend shopping here when better deals are easily found elsewhere. Great service, but the pricing really holds the place back.
For example, I recently got into MTG due to the Final Fantasy release -- I'm a huge fan of the series. I haven't bought cards in a very long time but wanted to buy some packs / singles due to the amazing art work from the FF series. I go into the store single booster packs from the FF series are $12.50 (MSRP 6.99, almost an 80% markup), Gift Bundle $200 (MSRP $89.99, 122% markup.)
I completely understand the economics of supply and demand, and that this release is in high demand. Still, I would expect pricing to be at least somewhat competitive with the online secondary market.
I will change my review if anything changes to reflect the accuracy of...
Read moreWent to buy Nettle Sentinel. Rung up $12. I asked what price guide did they go by. TCG Mid at the time, said he just looked them up. Showed them $2.12 on mid, then he said $2.50 we're a business we need to make money too. Guarantee they bought them for .25-.50 cents. Upscale greed prices negotiation and flat out lied too. Proceeded to buy them for $6 on ebay free shipping. Short scrawny guy should not be behind the counter. If you're not a regular, you see alot of special treatment. Lazy judging as well. At an IQ, asked my opponent how many cards were in hand, he answered 1, his turn came, has 3. Judge said nothing can be done and made no effort to fix what happened or made any effort to count back turns and draw steps. Basically saying you can draw an extra card and say you didn't and get away with it. I asked for my money back, and didn't want to play with cheaters. Employee called Dan Kato and he asked who it was first. Assuming I was a regular, I would have gotten my money back, since he didn't know who I was, said no. Store does not care to pander to new customers or gamers. Typical local shop, good...
