Gordon Food Service Store — Local services in Clinton Township

I love shopping at Gordon's! I have never been disappointed with anything I have purchased there. The steaks are delicious and much better than I even expected them to be. It's usually not too busy there so you can get in and out quickly if need be. Their prices are great for the most part. Keep an eye on the smaller items that you can usually find at your local grocery store. A very good percentage of those products are over priced. Even with that being said, I would still recommend them to absolutely anyone. It's a great place to shop. You will find items that you can't find at a grocery store and at a very good price as well. Sure they do have some items that I personally don't care for, however certainly much fewer items than most places. Everything that I do like and purchase is always of exceptional quality. I don't want to forget to mention that it is the only place I can actually find breaded veal patties. I do have to go to another location to get them. Not all Gordon's carry them. If you have never been to Gordon Food Service I definitely recommend that you go inside and take a look around the next time you are near one. Even if you don't plan to purchase anything. I’ve been shopping at GFS for quite some time for a local business that feeds 55 people three meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year… so I’m at the store A LOT, in addition to receiving a weekly truck order. The staff at this location has consistently gone above and beyond. The manager knows me by name. He greets me every time I enter, and takes the initiative to contact me about special stock he knows I need. If I place a pickup order, it’s shopped and ready to go when I arrive. The gentleman who stocks the freezers stops to ask if I need assistance every time he sees me in the freezer aisle. The staff working the registers and those behind the service counter have been nothing but courteous and helpful. It’s refreshing to see staff working together as team to grow a business, and who make their customers feel like part of the team, too! As rushed and stressful as my work days can be, the GFS team is a bright spot. The people at this location make the 20 minute drive worthwhile. This has always been a location I would visit frequently, but that will definitely be my last visit. I was in the freezer section looking for a little assistance. As the first employee walked out of the back towards me he was a slim tall white guy I said “excuse me sir could you help me with something” before he mentioned anything he started shaking his head no. He told me I could wait for the lady down there if I needed help, it was the way he said it which was beyond rude. So as the lady comes out of the freezer doors, I said excuse me ma’am over 4 times she kept walking. At first, I thought maybe she couldn’t hear me but if the customers in line turned and looked at you then you heard me as well. She only said wait a second because the customer was staring at her.
