This was my first time going to the @Salvation Army Thrift Stores Bins and let’s just say… it lived up to it’s reputation. 😅 📍Clinton Township, MI the location off Gratiot #thriftwithme #thriftfinds #thebins #thriftvlog #vintagefinds @The Salvation Army USA

As Salvation Army thrift stores go, this one is a Big-un! Isles are clear, clean and loaded with lots of goodies. There is plenty of parking outside. I was pushing my mom in her transporter chair and she started to hurt so our visit was shorter than needed to really get a good look at everything. I had found the cutest angel wall decoration and really wanted to buy it but when I went to check out I notice there was someone at the counter with a lot of items and only one cashier, then I noticed there was a couple in line with a big cart full of stuff. I figured we could get behind the couple but then two people quickly came up behind the couple and they had a lot of items. Mom was hurting and with only one cashier it would be a good 15+ min. wait I theorized. I hated to do it but I put down that cute angel wall decoration and we left. They have fancy purses, clothes up the wazu, housewares, books, furniture, on and on. A riding scooter and more cashiers would bump this to a 5 star. I highly recommend a visit.

Bummer update; for some odd reason they decided to count (money in the till) both registers at 5p...extra long wait. Big Salvation Army, it used to be a Furniture Express building. We find many good bargains here; I do have to add that some of the pricing is out of line with where it should be, so do your research. Also be alert of the discounts, the days they're on, which ones you qualify for (eg. teacher, senior, military etc), and the colored tag items that are being reduced in price. On Fridays there's always a 5 for $5 clothes sale, the tag color changes each week.

I go to this salvation army about 2/3 times a week for a couple of years now. They hired a new employee named Michelle who lacks customer service skills and is just out-right rude (I see she was already mentioned below under a negative review and shes only been there a month-So this is coming from 2 separate individuals that had separate negative encounters with Michelle now in less than a month-WHICH SHOULD BE A RED FLAG FOR A MANAGER). She literally took an item out of my hands (that I had retrieved from my cart) and walked away stating it goes to a 'set' another customer has at the service desk. She is the rudest employee I have ever encountered at any store in my lifetime. I was so disturbed of her behavior that I asked to speak to Laura (the GM who helped me out over a year ago with a piece of funiture I wanted that sat for months w/its price unchanged). Laura was confused at who I was and asked "Are you the one that complained about the bathrooms?"

Listen I don't complain about bathrooms and I don't know why anyone would as everyone should be happy there is always a working toliet that is offered to the public. I don't complain about how long lines are or being rung up for extra items on my receipt or when they sell furniture I purchase 3 days after I buy it on a weekend or when not given my discount. However I will ask to see a manager when I am being treated rudely or unfairly by one of their new hirees (which they seem to have alot of). Laura (you made it clear on your way out the door that your buddies with Michelle but she needs several courses on proper etiquette in the workplace dealing/speaking with customers and should probably just be a greater at this point until she gets the training she desperately needs before another negative review is left with her name. For all you thrifters out there, hopefully you encounter Brandon or the male manager that works weekend evenings (I unfortunately didn't catch his name) as those are the only 2 that I have always had pleasant encounters with t.he 2/3 days I shop...

Public restroom in this store has been closed with a sign OUT OF ORDER since the store opened 10:00 this morning. However, after an hour, its still closed and I had to use the bathroom. Denise , one of the cashiers and Jordan one of the asst manager helped me use the other restroom which is ‘ Employees restroom only’ as posted. Kudos to those two wonderful employees! Hours passed by, I was atill shopping and I had to use the restroom again. I tried to use the public restroom but it was still closed ‘Out of order sign still posted on the door for almost 4 hours! I talked to the manager and she said that both restrooms were out of order. but I didnt believe so. I told her that this restroom had been closed since store was opened and had been closed for almost 4 hours. She said that she was too busy, everybody was busy to fix the restroom. That answer from the mouth of the manager was unacceptable! I told her that several customers needed to use the restroom as soon as possible. She told me to wait for at least 45 mins or longer. Hmm. If nobody started complaining, that reatroom problem Wouldnt be resolved at all. While waiting I happened to talk to other asst manager, Michelle, who was rude in the beginning when I informed her about the restroom problem. To my surprise, she said that restrooms were closed down because store couldnt keep on cleaning immediately and opening the restroom everytime customers trashed the place, not for three times a day! She said that They couldnt clean, or fix the restroom everytime customers messed it up so they have to close it down to stop customers from using it and possibly messing it. The restroom that they “fixed and cleaned “ didnt even had toilet paper available for use. What a place! ...

I just went to the Salvation Army to exchange some clothes that didn’t fit right. I got a black tube top and black work pants. Now I will admit I do have a white dog so black clothes in my house is very hard to keep the white hair off of, so when I came to exchange their was some hair on the black pants. The person checking me out was training someone and the girl being trained was super sweet, but the one checking me out took the clothes out of the bag, looked at the girl being trained and said “we’re going to have to throw both of these away” with a condescending tone. I started to apologize and say “you don’t have to do the exchange it if you’re not allowed!” And she ignores me and continues to do the form. I say “I don’t feel comfortable that these clothes are going to get thrown away” she said “well there’s too many things for us to go through” I said “if it’s about the hair I will straight up take it home and wash it and bring it back? I don’t think good clothes should be thrown away 3 days after I bought it cause it has a little bit of dog hair on it?” She ignores me and proceeds to call the next person in line…. I’m like “I don’t feel right about this” but I proceeded to leave. Just wanted to say I don’t feel good about a donation center throwing away good product and the way the cashier made me feel was terrible. Probably won’t come back and use my...
