Great haircuts! I always go to Amar and am never disappointed. Sets clean lines and is definitely good about answering question and making suggestions if you don't know what you want. He (and most of the barbers there) cut all kinds of hair. I (white dude) have never been disappointed, and have seen him cut black dudes, asians and Latin guys and it always looks great. Prices are super reasonable too (18 for a cut). Only thing is if you go on Saturday or a Friday afternoon, you'll have to wait. So I try to go on weekdays when I'm off. Also. DISHONEST PRICE DISCRIMINATION. I don't appreciate that they apparently engage in dishonest price discrimination. When I went inside, I asked the receptionist how much a haircut would be. Instead of giving me an answer right away, she yelled in Spanish to another employee there, and then returned to me and told me it would be $18. Why would she do such a thing? I find it hard to believe that the receptionist does not know the price of a haircut off the top of her head. The obvious interpretation is that she wanted to charge me at a higher rate than she charges the other clients. Quality of haircut depends on the barber you get. The shop keeper is a poor one. I approached him thinking that he may be the owner to ask why the shop opened upwards of 10 minutes late every Saturday. He told me that it doesn’t matter they they open late. He said it’s a business. I said that’s right and don’t you think that customers should not have to wait for you arrive each Saturday and asked for the owners information. He told me that he would not give it to me and that he didn’t have time to talk to me able it my concern. He said that it doesn’t matter whether I patronize the establishment.
