Third Eye Comics — Local services in College Park

I've always had really good experiences with the store in Annapolis (and staff in particular- who will bend over backwards to help you out) so i was excited to see 3E taking over for Big Planet in College Park, which is much closer to home.

Two stand out experiences I've had (specifically regarding employees) have been with John, who seems to be just about the sweetest guy alive. He's done everything from pulled books for me over the phone, and secured them behind the desk with my name on them while awaiting pickup, to mopping up coffee off the floor that accidentally leaked through the bottom of my Starbucks cup, while I embarrassingly over-apologized. Just a great, friendly guy and the embodiment of who you would want to have working at your local comic shop.

The second was a ginger guy, whose name I have unfortunately not caught yet. I was telling him I was new to Tynion, but loving him as a writer, when he found out I had not yet gotten into Department of Truth. Without asking me, he added the first trade to my stack and told me, "it's only 10 bucks and you NEED to read it." He was absolutely right, and shortly thereafter I bought the second and third volumes. I appreciate a place I can go where they will engage you in conversation and actually help and make recommendations based on their knowledge and your interests. It's what a comic book...

A fantastic, friendly, diverse comic shop done right. John & Tyler welcome visitors into the space and guide with pressure to the interesting spots around the store.

Gotta give an extra shoutout to John who's tall frame might intimidate, but as soon as he gets rolling on an explanation you realize you've found a fantastic guide who goes beyond what's on TV & Films. I wish I had a guy like John in my local shop growing up and I've been into comics & anime for 30+ years. I'm thankful that my sons get to have him in their lives as fellow fans.

I'm so glad they've finally arrived! I was looking to find one comic to complete a collection after a 20-year hiatus from comic collecting. The staff there is super friendly, uber-knowledgeable, and just flat out AWESOME!!!! They remembered me by name after one visit and have completely rejuvenated my love of comic collecting. They go the extra mile to answer your questions and make you feel at home when you walk in. Don't let the small store fool you. It's just the right size to make you feel at home and not overwhelmed with what they offer. Love...
