It is a lovely antique shop offering a variety of items from different vendors; however, the staff could be more thoughtful. The cashier rang up my purchase and stated my total was “$68 with tax”. The receipt showed I paid $71. When I pointed out the difference, she explained there’s a 4% surcharge for credit card transactions, which was noted on a sign at the register that was inconspicuously hidden by a large vase of flowers. After moving the flowers, she assured me that she normally tells shoppers before they pay, but didn’t offer a refund of the difference if I paid with cash or debit card. Enjoy the extra $3 you made off of me. It’s also worth pointing out that another staff followed me to the second floor and aimlessly looked at items near me, seemingly to see if I was shoplifting. Love the selection at this antique store, and it’s one I frequently visit. However, this past weekend during their anniversary celebration, I witnessed two of the employees loudly broadcasting how they don’t care if customers get offended when they use racial slurs. They then proceeded to list off racial slurs for different groups of people, all the while laughing their heads off. It made me very uncomfortable and it did not seem like a welcoming environment. Terrible, got followed around like a dog in heat, the one lady, actually wanted to take my hat to the front desk, I told her it s mine honey, already rang items up in register, before we got done shopping, told them we weee going to decide when we where done, which items we wanted for sure .
