Champagne and Lace Bridal — Local services in Collinsville

My bridal appointment was off to a great start. The owner was very informative in what she offered for bridal. I had tried on quite a few dresses prior to this appointment at other shops, but hadn't found what I was looking for yet. I was very clear in my explanation of what looks best on me and what I'm most comfortable in.

She was very enthusiastic, but quickly got into defense mode once I wasn't finding a dress I totally loved. She would ask what I didn't like about it and I would explain. Then she would try to talk me into loving the dress, even though I didn't. She got frustrated very quickly and was constantly grabbing more dresses, but wasn't taking into consideration what I liked and didn't like. Our appointment was close to 2 hours and I must have tried on almost 20 dresses, and only about 4 were ones that I initially took off the rack. I was nothing but nice and pointed out aspects of the gowns I did like, ultimately, I just didn't find my dress here.

She didn't offer to take down any of my information upon leaving, in case she were to get something new in that I may like. She stormed back to the fitting room and loudly started putting dresses back, talking with one of her consultants who just walked in. She did not make eye contact or thank us for coming in to try on dresses. She sarcastically congratulated me on my engagement and waved us goodbye with her back to us. Frantic for a dress less then a month from the wedding. Life has been so busy and its been tough to get anything done. Well, not today! Champagne and Lace was last on the list of stops and I actually said "just forget it, they will probably turn us away bc we failed to make an appointment." But, my daughter convinced me to go anyways and see. We get there, and the door was locked....so we rang the doorbell. A woman with a smile popped her head out the door, introduced herself as Chris, and said she was with a client but would take us @ 5PM after hours. I couldn't believe it! REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I asked before turning away if we could browse quietly while the other bride was having her fitting and she welcomed us in without hesitation. My daughter and I pinpointed 2 dresses we liked, left my phone # with Chris and awaited her call. She called us 10 after 5PM and we were waiting patiently on the parking lot. Very excited and pleased, we entered her shop, and she treated us with such respect and joy. It was really our pleasure to be in her company. Of the 2 dresses, my last dress was THE dress. We celebrated and hugged as if we knew each other! It was one of the greatest shopping experiences I have ever had. This place is unorganized and unprofessional. I have been a bridesmaid in several weddings and have used different places to order and alter my dress. I must say, THIS PLACE IS THE WORST. Every time I called, they had no idea who I was and could never find my file. I went there almost three weeks ago (when my dress came in) to have a fitting. They have not touched my dress. The wedding is in a week. In fact, I picked it up today unaltered because the customer service has been so poor, I no longer wish to give them my business. I was told by the owner that I would get a discount on my shoes if I ordered from them, but when I called to order my shoes they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Hence, they refused my discount and I took my business somewhere else. The owner has been EXTREMELY RUDE to me, the bride, and the other bridesmaids. I was with the bride when she made an appointment for her second fitting, which was scheduled today. When we got there, not only was the owner not there, but they told us that the girl who made the appointment did it incorrectly.... the brides dress has not been touched so it would have been impossible to have a...
