For starters, this place has more trading cards that I have ever seen in one place... just an absolutely mind-bogglingly huge array of trading cards of all sorts. If it has a trading card-- sports of any kind, Pokemon, Magic, Garbage Pail Kids, 90s movies, you name it-- they likely have it. The card selection is truly bonkers. That being said, the organization and cleanliness of this store leaves a tremendous amount to be desired. Most cards are stored on very high shelves, you almost need binoculars to see many of them, and staff seem to lack any basic method of actually reaching them-- a ladder would be the natural choice, or maybe some sort of long grabber tool-- but they just have to slowly move things out of the way, climb on a countertop and do their best to knock things down. It is incredibly inefficient, and quite possibly dangerous. There are piles of things everywhere, on pretty much every surface, even obstructing some of the aisles. I'm not certain you could get a wheelchair through there easily. The backroom, which has a big selection of collectible toys, figurines, gaming books, and memorabilia; is even more disordered and cluttered-- the store offers space for tabletop gamers, which seems to have largely taken over this space with clutter. Dizzy Dugout is worth your time if you are into trading cards, but the total disorganization, overwhelmed staff, lack of obvious pricing on most cards, and general feeling of a store that has recently been through a major earthquake do little to create a customer experience at the level it could be.

Review Date: June 21st, 2014 Some of my best friends discovered Dizzy Dugout when they lived near Collinsville, IL. So naturally, we all went next time we hung out. All I can say is Holy Hell that is a packed wall of merchandise. My friends weren’t kidding when they said this place was impressive. Behind the counter is a ginormous wall of trading cards. Some I hadn’t even heard of and some I haven’t seen in years. When you walk in, it is literally a wall of product on each side until you get to the second room, then it’s board games, comics and room to play on the tables set up. If you are adventurous enough, there is another room that is further back. Upon first seeing it, you would think it was an unused room with random stock in it… and it kind of is, but stepping back there, you’ll see Final Fantasy VIII figures, anime VHS tapes, other anime figures from the 90’s and manga. It is a time warp when you cross into that room. My friends and I keep finding new things every time we go back there that we missed the previous times. Overall, Dizzy is a fantastic store. If you are into that kind of stuff. The only real negatives is that the store is beyond cluttered and they had a roof leak, so it was musty the few times I have gone, but they have since fixed the leak. Awesome store with many treasures you can find, if you have time to look.

I placed an order almost a year ago now. Part of my order was fulfilled, but one of the items did not arrive. I received communication from the store that the item was delayed. However, even after months passed, I never heard about my item again. Over the course of the year, I sent an email every couple of months, to which I never got replies. Finally, after 10 months of my order, one of my emails got a single response asking me to confirm which item was missing. Within minutes, I replied back, trying to catch whomever it was who emailed before they vanished for months again. But alas, no response. I sent two more emails, again just radio silence. I really tried to be patient with this store but a YEAR? And not even so much as an email back. Luckily, the missing item was not too expensive. But still, a theft nonetheless. I’ve attached the only 2 communications I’ve ever received from the store, not including the automated confirmation emails.

Came to this shop today for the first time because I’ve been looking for a good place to buy cards.

I have to say, I was very disappointed.

Not only was this the most disorganized store I’ve seen in my life, the lackluster customer service made it even worse.

As I was TRYING to make my way down the extremely cluttered single isle, trying to find the section I was looking for, a small child maybe 2-3 years old was running towards me with a pair of scissors in her hand. Very confused on if this was a customers child or the child of the employees, another child came out and grabbed the scissors out of the younger kids hands and proceeded to run down the isle.

Once I finally made it to the section I was looking for I was happy to see the product selection, until I seen the super unreasonable price tag. I get it, PokĆ©mon has been popular for the last 3 months, but the hype died back down about a month ago, there’s absolutely NO reason the be charging $15-$30 even $50 over market price. Especially when you can buy some of the items for big box stores still. Not only was the product WAY over priced, it was also damaged. So many items were unmarked, and I didn’t even attempt the try and get the attention of the only worker that was in the store, not that I could have anyways.

I felt like one little bump or trying to get a box of the shelf would have caused an avalanche of product to fall on me, so I just wanted to get out of the store as fast as possible.

Also noticed they were taking pre orders on a new product of releasing in a few months, so I decided to look up the prices, and not surprised at all, already charging 2x the amount it’s supposed to be sold at. Honestly, very disappointing people like this own a business. Wouldn’t be shocked at all if it gets shut down soon.

I think who ever owns this store really needs to check in and make some HUGE changes and price their product more accurately, and maybe they wouldn’t have product stacked literally to the roof. If I could give this store a worse rating I would. Definitely will not be...

I have a bit of a sad story... I'm getting back into magic to gathering and my wife is supporting me rather well in this endeavor. She found the Dizzy Digout which is a local game store in my town and got the Groupon for it. I was extremely excited to go and seeing the pictures on mine definitely does not do this place justice! What is stacked from floor to ceiling with everything you could possibly think a card shop could/ would have. My daughter and I went together to share the experience. She is almost 4 and we enjoy going new places together. The owner is extremely nice and extremely knowledgeable- being that I'm back into magic he suggested just what I needed and helped me out quickly. Unfortunately my daughter got sick right in front of the cash register. She puked on herself on me and on the floor. I felt absolutely terrible about it. The owner thought nothing of it brought me down a personal towel of his and a couple of rags so I could clean off my daughter. When I finally got her cleaned up we came back into the main lobby and I waited around so I could clean up the mess for him. When he got back from his apartment during a few cleaning supplies he reassured me that it was OK and accidents happen he told my daughter was not a big deal- I mean you couldn't get any nicer about it. He told me not to worry about it to go home and get her in bed and rested. I don't know how much nicer this guy could've been! I will always return there for my business and I suggest that you go there and experience do you have a spear in the pleasantries this shop affords...
