This is very disappointing. Where do I start. First of all just be aware that it's in a hotel conference room and they have little tables spread out. When you walk in there's a meal on the table already. It was cold to eat. They asked if we wanted chicken and I can't say I saw any chicken anywhere on my plate and we had waited all day to eat. The mashed potatoes were barely 2 tablespoons. The meal was highly disappointing to say the least. Be aware this is an interactive dinner with I'm sorry to say, very very bad acting. I know it's tough to work an audience in situations like that but this was like nails on a chalkboard. They drag their audience in and put them on the spot all night so if that's not comfortable for you then I'd pass on this. They are yelling these bad acting skills because there's no microphones. In a bad acoustic room this is grinding on the nerves. For $65/person $150 total I have to say this was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent. Maybe $25/person is more fitting. For us this was an absolutely dreadful experience. Some people there seemed to enjoy it....I think. Either that or they were hiding their anguish inside...
Read moreI regret spending my evening at The Dinner Detective. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was not the high-quality experience we were expecting. The âvenueâ was nothing more than a corner of a corporate meeting room, with a few tables shoved together, making for an incredibly awkward and unpolished atmosphere.
The so-called "interactive" aspect was less engaging and more uncomfortable. The actors spent most of their time screaming and yelling, making it impossible to enjoy even a moment of the show. Their attempt at humor was grossly over-the-top, bordering on obnoxious rather than entertaining.
As for the foodâabsolutely disgusting. Our meal arrived cold, with an entrĂ©e that somehow managed to taste like both plastic and cardboard. It was genuinely inedible. Considering the steep price tag, I expected something at least passable, but this was downright awful.
We couldnât take it anymore and left after the first act. Between the unbearable noise, cringe-worthy performance, and terrible food, this was easily one of the worst experiences weâve ever had. Save your money and find a better way to spend...
Read moreThis was unfortunately a bust for us. We arrived not knowing exactly what to expect but excited as our gift giver had hyped the experience she and a friend attended before. Upon arrival, we soon realized this was a way more socially interactive experience than expected but decided to stick it out. Salad and desert and water were waiting on the table for us. That was supposed to hold us over during what can only be described as high school drama club theatrics that were performed at a volume way too high for the small group in attendance. It also went on forever, at which point no food was delivered, taken away or water refilled. My dinner order was wrong, which was disappointing. But upon tasting it, both my partner and I quickly agreed it was time to go. It was inedible! I would not recommend this locationâs experience to anyone l know. This may be fun for a particular group, but the poor quality entertainment, the push for invasive questioning and some of the worst hotel food Iâve ever tasted, my crowd wouldnât be amused. Luckily, In-N-Out was across the street. Once we got there, our evening vastly...
