This was my first and last time here! I went to purchase Oxtail. The Butcher weighed the meat for me, printed the sale sticker, then asked if I wanted the Oxtail to be cut. I said "yes", and the Butcher started cutting the meat, asking if the size of cuts were okay. He even cut off the fat, tossing it to the side. When he was finished, the Butcher then put the original $29 sticker on my meat. But, he had cut off all of the fat, without offering me the option of keeping the fat because he knew he would charge me. I asked the Butcher to please weigh the meat again, because the weight of the meat has now changed. When he weighed the meat, there was a $6 difference in price ($23). The Butcher said he could not give me a sticker for the lower price. He asked me to speak to the Owner. When I asked the Owner why I would be charged for something that I am not getting? The Owner said that the meat is sold in a bundle. That is why they charge the whole price. This would not have been a problem for me, if the Butcher had not discarded the fat, and still charge me same price, as if I had received it! Needless to say, I did not purchase anything here. Weights and Measures needs to pay a visit to this...

This review is based on one visit only. A decent quality Mexican meat market. The usual selection of fresh meats and seafood and a bonus in that they sell bulk quantitiesof meat as well. The prices are very reasonable for their meat and seafood. I purchased large shrimp at 6.99/pound (was told it was from Sinaloa, supposed to be a good thing from what I hear) and baby octopus (don't recall the price) and I was very happy with my purchase. They also offer a hot food deli and an assortment of Mexican grocery products and produce. I did not check prices on the grocery products and produce, but I can say that the produce was not the freshest. It was reasonably clean, but I did notice a large crack in the glass of one of the refrigerated meat displays. I'm no health department inspector, but I'm pretty sure that is a hygiene/food safety issue that needs to addressed asap. I would return again and would recommend it to most people. Hopefully they address the meat display sooner...

I had previously left a great review about La Bodega Latina but for about a year now the cooks have been the rudest people I've ever delt with in a restaurant by far. Everytime i go and order something they have that look in there face like there sick of life and working there. Look once you don't like your job you should just quit and not ruin customers days. The wife of the main cook in there is the rudest of them all this lady answers with such dislike like she's angry that your there in her presence. I've called the store manager twice to complain about this and there's still no action being taken. Kinda a sad thing because i would make big orders every Friday but if this is the way they do business they will lose there loyal...
