The idea of a custom wedding gown might seem too dreamy or even pretentious, especially in a small-ish town. In reality, it was a wonderful, personal, fun, enlightening experience--specifically because of Nadine. She is a delight to work with, from our first conversation, through her detailed hand-sketched drafts, to my glorious final product: a gorgeous gown that is unique to me and fits me perfectly--in both my taste and my body.

At first I wasn't super sure of what I wanted, I had just a vague idea; she asked questions and guided my thoughts toward more specificity. Over a few meetings, poring over numerous proposed designs in her funky studio space, she created an absolutely splendid custom dress. It is elegant, features beautiful fabric and details, and even felt comfortable all evening.

Those who know me said, among many other wonderful things, "it's so YOU!" so Nadine nailed the essence of what I wanted, even when I couldn't picture the details from the start.

Working with Nadine is an exciting and also relaxing experience: she's confident in her direction but open to changing along the way; young but yet wise beyond her years; and focuses on the details without losing sight of the overall vision.

Further, she offers not only a boutique with darling accessories, but personal delivery and fitting on the day of your wedding (for custom gowns). It was so fun to have her be a full part of the getting-ready process that day!

My experience with Designs X Nadine was nothing short of exceptional. I came to Nadine with my soon to be mother in law’s 37 year old vintage wedding dress. She had passed away 2 months prior to her battle with cancer. Nadine went above and beyond to bring my vision to life by making changes to the dress to make it my own, while respecting the sentiment of the situation and not taking away from the original dress. She transformed it from a total 80’s gown to a more modern, romantic, and classic dress I will forever cherish. I was able to gift my father in law a pocket square she designed out of scraps of the dress with their wedding anniversary embroidered on it. It was a very heartfelt moment! Beyond her excellence surrounding my dress, her space is comfortable and trendy. I was able to purchase a beautiful pearl studded veil that complimented my dress perfectly, my bridal heels, and the cutest white dress for my rehearsal dinner. My first experience getting alterations (a bridesmaid dress) so maybe this is normal but I just felt stressed by the whole experience. 1) cost was unexpected, I was shocked to be charged per button that needed to be adjusted on top of the cost of hemming and shortening the bodice, I wish pricing was more transparent upfront. 2) There were miscommunications that I wish had been handled better. 3) at pickup, I felt like I was avoided, maybe because I had voiced my disappointment earlier, but whatever the reason, I tried on my dress alone and no one talked to me about the alterations or asked if I liked the fit. 4) The alterations look good, there were minor things that I noticed but not worth dragging out the transaction, I just really wanted to be done.
