Total disgrace. Recent pictures drive home the point that this isn't so much a store as it is just a cramped space of waist high long boxes and randomly disorganized issues so unevenly stacked they'll topple over if you breath too hard. Hardcover books and trade paperbacks on shelves are inaccessible behind the clutter, and some display cases are so buried under stacks of backstock you'll wonder why anyone bothered to put anything in there. "Treasure hunting" is a real cute way to describe excavating through reams of junk to discover anything worth paying for. Hardly anything is labeled with a price, old man behind the desk just picks a number when asked. This place was worlds better when James ran it, but these days it's just a rotting husk under current ownership.
Doesn't please me at all to describe the abysmal state of this former downtown landmark. See for yourself if you dare, and just remember the name of the store is coincidentally where you should keep your...

I'll spare everyone the details of my ( now multiple) bad experience(s,) but the short version is that the owner could care less about walk-in and day-to-day customers and is only trying to recoup his investment via online sales. I get it, after collecting comics since before "we were all just stains in our father's trousers" ( his words, not mine) its easy to get disillusioned and bitter, but that's no reason to berate and devalue your patrons, vendors and (1)employee. We are but pitiful peons in your presence, O Great Collector. We are not worthy of your sacred library of illustrated tomes. I suppose for you there is Time...

He was showing his friend some big key issues which I asked if he was selling them because I was interested, he then answered me with a price which he didnāt really mean and was just being sarcastic, I didnāt get right away because I was really genuinely interested, so I apologized to him ācause he seemed to take offense, after apologizing he just replied with āI should have given you a direct answer and isnāt it obvious itās not for sale since thereās no price on itā. Also kept repeating how heās been grading comics for so long even before I was born. He seemed friendly to other people in the store, but was extremely rude to me and obviously...
