I’ve lived in Columbia for 7 years and could never find a salon that offered keratin treatments—only Brazilian blowouts, which sadly do nothing for my hair. I have very curly, frizzy hair (and a lot of it), and within 2 weeks of a Brazilian blowout, my hair would revert right back to its natural state.
Back in New England, I was getting keratin treatments quarterly. I could wash my hair, towel-dry it, spray a little leave-in conditioner, and be out the door with smooth, frizz-free hair. I missed that so much—until I found Studio 306 and saw that Marina offered both keratin and Brazilian blowouts. I took a chance and booked an appointment… and I’m so glad I did!
While Marina was applying the treatment, I knew this was the keratin I was used to. When she finished, she said it would likely be about 60% straighter—but she was wrong in the best way. I waited the full 3 days, washed my hair, and… my hair is PIN straight. No frizz. No waves. Just smooth, shiny, effortless hair. I immediately booked my next keratin treatment for 3 months out!
The salon itself is clean, modern, and welcoming. I was worried about parking, but there’s a garage literally 10 steps away. You just pull a ticket and pay when you leave—super simple. I was there for about 3.5 hours (thanks to all this hair!) and only paid a little over $2 to park.
The keratin treatment is reasonably priced, but honestly, I’d pay even more for results like this. Marina is friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and you can tell she truly loves what she does. She takes pride in her work—and it shows.
Thank you, Marina, for giving me the hair I’ve been...
Read moreWords can never fully express how wonderful my experience was there. My daughter wanted a haircut over the weekend and yeah I forgot. It was Memorial Day but I made a promise. I called five places that were closed and then I called Marina and my day got a lot better. She said that she could see us tomorrow but my daughter was set to fly to Kansas to see her grandparents, so Marina flew into action and said she agreed to cut her hair. While at her studio we got to talking and I mentioned that I was a veteran. I was prepared to pay her whatever she asked, but she said she wouldn’t take a dime and that she was thankful for military members and the sacrifices we made for the country she calls her home. I tried my best to give her any kind of monetary compensation but she adamantly refused.
Words will never ever express my thanks to this remarkable woman. She not only cut my daughter’s hair, she shampooed it, styled it and gave her a blowout.
People like Marina are few and far between. I will return to her studio whenever a hair needs to be cut in my household. She is just that amazing and my daughter looked so beautiful when it was all said and done. I’ll also be recommending her to friends, family, absolute strangers and whoever I see on the street. Seriously, opening conversation line is going to be “get your hair cut by this woman or you’re insane, and your hate puppies if you don’t.” Lol.
Thank...
Read moreI recently visited this salon to get a perm, and unfortunately, I didn’t have the best experience. Mariana gave me chemical burns all over my back from the perm solution, which caused a fever due to the open wounds, and the bleeding won’t stop. Unfortunately, I can’t see a doctor since I’m out of state for university. My back and neck look awful—they’re extremely red, bloody, and it hurts to breathe. She kept complaining that my hair was too long and uneven to perm, which caused her to stay after salon hours. This made me feel guilty for keeping her so long, and it made me uncomfortable as a customer.
At first, my hair turned out fine, but when I got back to my dorm, I realized how much she had cut. I thought she was just trimming the ends. I got a perm that looked like my reference picture, which I liked, but she cut a lot more hair than I expected. I came in with hair down to my waist, and while I understand that it wasn’t in the healthiest condition, especially at the tips, I didn’t expect so much to be cut off. Now, it’s only slightly below my collarbone. I’m just sad because it was the longest my hair had ever been. I paid around $340. I’m never one to complain because I understand this is a job, and perhaps she’s done great work for others, but sadly, my experience didn’t meet that standard. Based on this, I wouldn’t come back. I have provided images on some of the...
