When my friend went to checkout the two employees called us over and demanded we show identification for his purchase. Mind you, he is almost 40 and we are mid 30s with full blown Grey beards. Went in to buy 2 Monte Cristo Nicaraguan Series. Price on the shelf was $15.50 a stick (bogo). They charged me 18.95 plus tax. I told them the price on the shelf was $15.50, he went in the humidor and verified I was right and then said “Oh the price just changed today and we haven’t changed the price tags yet.” I said I thought they were supposed to sell them to me for the price they have advertised and he just didn’t respond. Knowledgeable. Polite. Wonderful selection in the humidor. I can wast a lot of money not knowing what I’m looking at. I don’t have that problem when I shop in brooklyn. The staff is helpful, teaching me what’s what. A lot of places would see me coming and upsell. The staff realizes that if I have a good experience, I’ll be back.
