I was impressed with the dorm and the Housing Dept. at Univ. of South Carolina! What started as a small nightmare because our minivan broke down at the hotel blocks away with a full van of college dorm items, turned into a fond memory and all ended well. First, U of SC will forever be my favorite because they helped us solve the problem by helping us move all our items from the broke minivan to the dorm room and kept a stressed-out mom calm, too. The van did eventually got towed, repaired, and driven back to our state, but not before an amazing team from Housing brought their golf carts and people and worked a miracle in a matter of 30 minutes so that we didn’t miss our scheduled move-in time. When we got there, we found a room that was spacious, in pretty excellent shape, and had way more storage than I imagined. Plus, I thought we would be waiting forever to use the elevators to transport, but was so pleased to realize they were running perfectly. The day ended with a beautiful dorm room and our family dinner together at 10 pm at a bar in 5 points that serves tasty hamburgers bar-side…and maybe a beverage. Thank you, again, University of South Carolina and Capstone!...
Read moreI lived here for the 21-22 school year. The building is a little far from other things on campus, but there are a lot of positives. The views from the higher floors are incredible. The food court in the lobby is definitely one of the best parts. The building is beautiful and relatively clean. It lacks a good kitchen area for each floor and the elevators are DEFINITELY outdated. Great conversation starter. Overall great space for first year...
