I finally got a chance to see the play "Raisin In The Sun" at USC college. The play was approx 2.5hrs long. Longstreet theatre is a small intimate venue, seating goes around the room. All the seats are actually good, but next time I will go early for a better seat choice. I actually liked the theater, even though its been neglected for many years. The outside of building is in great shape. The bathrooms are on the second floor, theater on third floor. Elevators are old and slow, we decided to use the stairs instead. No concessions, so eat before you attend.
They are taking donations for the upgrade of the seats, I will post pics.
The play was excellent, all the actors did such a wonderful job! I will watch the website for future plays.
My daughter attended medical school at USC for 6yrs, so I have first hand experience on what the school charges for fees. Im really disappointed that the school has failed the up keep of this historic building. Im not accepting any excuses, its actually shameful. The Arts dept, staff and students deserve better than this.
If you want the history of the theatre, read the truth. I wasn't surprised at...
Read moreGreat performance of Raisin in the Sun but the accommodations leave much to be desired. The seats in this theatre are horrible. The building is beautiful but we were horrified when we entered the theatre to see the ripped and torn seating across the entire room. Not one seat was intact. There was hair …human and animal all over what little coverings were left on the chairs. They also had the nerve to post signs that the seating was being replaced. This overshadowed the great performance given that night. Definitely won’t go back until they fix...
Read moreI loved every thing about this theatre. The size, design and the history behind it. What I didn't like was how the seats were so confining as in no leg room and stitting down for long periods tend to become very uncomfortable. Other than that it's a great place to have a production...
