My wife love's Hobby Lobby for picture frames and wall decor, so she enjoys visiting them when we go out to see if there are certain items that fit a room or style she is looking for, and the experiences are generally pleasing. The Columbia store is just okay, though. We went in with three kids looking for a couple specific items, and it was a bit of a chore. While the main center section was organized and clean, many of the seasonal aisles, and back paper aisles were more disorganized and difficult to navigate. Additionally, the registers were very busy, and they could have used a few more cashiers. We couldn't find an employee to assist us, except for one at the fabrics, but she had 2 customers she was helping and after waiting a few minutes, we passed on the items we had. The wall decor my wife had picked up was not priced so we were trying to get it checked, and we were also trying to locate another item for a gift, but we ended up leaving without anything. I called later to check inventory for the item we never found, after finding it online, and it took me 2 phone calls, and 27 minutes on the phone to find out it was not available, after which I was abruptly hung up on. She still likes Hobby Lobby, but this Columbia location is not on our...
Read moreI am a Christian so I love that Hobby Lobby is too. I do not like that they are advertising $18 or 18.50 an hour, but not specifying according to Thursday August 22nd that they are hiring right now part time and that doesn't mean $18 or 18.50 an hour that's less. I know someone that got hired on thinking o I can get good pay here and possibly good hours here but nope less than $18 even less than $15 an hour and part time like false advertisement - lies on lies not so Christian if they are a Christian company or based organization. Their store is clean for the most part just they need to realize what they are doing lying to people/others about jobs and just their opportunities. I do not know how or even if you can but to reply to Brittany Adam's review about barcodes and registers apparently Hobby Lobby because they are suppose to be a Christian organization/company they believe in the 'Mark of the beast', so they do not use bar codes because they're the 'Mark of the Beast'. I work at Target and we carry around zebra store phones and we scan things for people and not just at the registers Hobby Lobby doesn't use barcodes but they don't have zebras or a phone for each co worker either to use to scan things because of the 'Mark...
Read moreI went in yesterday to buy some fabric. I will not be purchasing sewing materials at Hobby Lobby again. The lady at the sewing desk was relatively nice, but the selection wasn't as vast as I had hoped. Furthermore, these people wouldn't price match. I've worked in retail and I've given small discounts to keep customers happy and get return business (which Hobby Lobby would have gotten). And mind you, I sew a LOT. The head cashier, Marcia/Marsha, did not even look at me when she came over to abruptly deny a price match. I did not get eye contact one single time or an, "I'm so sorry, but we've been told we can't do this." Instead, she gave the cashier (who WAS friendly) a little lecture on giving people who brought in a digital coupon a discount. Because I don't have a smart phone, I guess they weren't willing to give me that little extra ten percent off. If you have the choice, go to Hancock Fabrics. I could have gotten three times the amount of product for the same amount of money plus major discounts. Hancock will treat you right and they'll GIVE you coupons if you don't have one on you. They know how to keep...
