We bought a home last October that has a saltwater pool. Come this April, we took the cover off and had no idea really how to proceed. Started with one company, but when I asked them questions, they had no idea how to answer them and their overall attitude was "meh, you figure it out". The home is an Airbnb and we live out of town, so it's important that we have people who know what they're doing, are professional and respectful of scheduling around guests, are able to troubleshoot and fix things without me needing to be involved, and are highly responsive.
Blue Waters Pool & Spas has been a godsend for our first pool season. We had bad sand in our filter, so they had to change that out. We had an undersized breaker for the pool pump, so it wouldn't even come on at first. They came out WITH the electrician to tell them exactly where the breaker was and what needed to be done. Then the old timer died. Then the old pool pump died. Then we found a hole in the liner. The team recommended a different electrician for us to get all the remaining electrical up to code and hardwire a new timer that was correctly sized for the pool pump. They ordered a new pump immediately, repaired the leak, and installed the new pump.
During all of this, they have consistently sent multiple folks out to make sure the pool is clean and has properly balanced chemicals, so we could still let guests swim even amidst of all the moving pieces.
Everyone has been phenomenal so far. From the front office staff, Megan (who has been a literal pool logistics savior for us), the guys who've come out to clean the pool (thanks Christian!), and Brian (who has come out and taken each of our setbacks in stride and helped us navigate the complexity of the situation) we now FINALLY have a fully filled, crystal clear pool that has a hardwired timer that operates a brand new pool pump that will run for 12 hours a day and keep the pool clean and safe for our guests.
I know they have pools all over this area, but you would never know it because they treat me like I'm their only client. They take my concerns and issues seriously, and I feel much better being out of town and having an Airbnb with a pool because of them.
If you're looking for reliable, professional, responsive, knowledgeable, resourceful, friendly, timely, comprehensive pool guys that will advocate on your behalf and keep your pool fresh and clean, these are your pool guys. Period.

Read moreunfortunately, my family did not receive the best service from blue pools and spa, NC. things started out great but communication gradually declined from the company. it became increasingly difficult to get a hold of anyone at the company to get them out to finish servicing our pool. at one point, we went on vacation for 3 weeks and their team came out a few times to work on the pool. when we arrived back home, excited to see a clean and empty pool, it was in the same state of filth with an added fast food cup from an employee at the bottom of our pool. the grounding rod nor any of the electrical/plumbing work that was supposed to be done happened either. i called the office to get a service report of what had been done in the previous 3 weeks-the woman who i spoke with barely listened as i talked and i had to repeat my issue multiple times. she said she would send a full report of what services had been done by end of day but of course that didn’t happen. i called the office and left voicemails at least 4 times in one week before they finally sent someone out (who did amazing service and helped us tremendously, Hunter and Jimmy). we contacted Jay again once we had our pool filled to finish the services. when the team finally arrived, they didn’t have the tools or knowledge to install the salt water system that we bought, although we sent them the make and model number beforehand. would’ve loved to have a better relationship with this company but unfortunately, i would not...

In our many visits to the store over the years, the entire Blue Waters staff has consistently been friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help.
We’ve had a couple of equipment issues along the way — with both our pool cleaner and our heater — and Randy has truly saved the day on both counts. Aside from being wonderfully caring and conscientious about our needs, he was always willing to make service calls and follow up until everything was working perfectly. And beyond that, Randy really knows his stuff! His deep experience with all types of pool equipment shows in every interaction — he’s a true expert.
Based on our four-year relationship with Blue Waters, we can say confidently that this is a fine company. Anyone reading the negative reviews here should take them with a huge grain of salt. Unfortunately, people with unrealistic expectations, poor communication, or personal grievances can post reviews too — but our experience has been nothing but positive.
