This was an absolutely terrible experience. A joke. We arrived at Flea Market City to discover it was literally a ghost town. This was at 8:30 a.m. The owners were not even there yet. I had their number so I called them and inquired if there were any other vendors that were scheduled to show up. The woman, her name is Sandra, assured me that she had plenty of vendors lined up and they should be arriving soon. We were skeptical, because we are Flea Market vendors by trade, and a good flea market is quite busy by this time on a Saturday morning. Regardless, we started unpacking and then decided to stop to wait and see if anyone would indeed show up. We waited about an hour, to no avail. As we were packing up, Sandra walked up to our table and said "I'm here to collect." I politely said "No ma'am we're not going to pay you as there is no one here." She said "yes you're going to pay me because you've set up." I said "Ma'am we did not even set up completely. We have made a business decision to leave, because there is no opportunity for money to be made." At this point she shouted for her husband to call the police. We proceeded to finish packing up our vehicle while she was adamantly screaming for her husband to call the police. Thankfully the husband acknowledged the reality of the situation and decided it wasn't worth charging us to sit in the cold wind for an hour. He said "Sandra Let It Go." But she wasn't going to let it go. She got on the phone and called the police herself. By this point we were in our vehicle and on our way out. I should also mention that when we arrived, and again I emphasize that the lot was completely empty, we parked our vehicle underneath the sign that said Vender Parking Only. When the owners finally arrived, Sandra came over to our table as we were unpacking and said "You need to move your truck." When we asked why she said "Because it's going to block the other vendors." We were pretty much dumbfounded at this point. In conclusion the woman that runs this flea market is greedy vindictive and malicious. As we were leaving she told me "This is going to come back on you!" I just don't understand this woman! We did nothing wrong, there was no contract, there were no customers, there were no vendors! If I could give this facility zero stars I would. Lesson...
Read moreI was a vendor at this market on July 22 and 23. Vendor fee is $20. That included a covered table and ample table space. The first day, which was a Saturday, I arrived at about 7:45am. Maybe 3 other vendors were also there at that time. The owner showed up about 45 minutes to an hour later. I believe that when someone is new to your establishment, you should greet and welcome them. The owner didn't do that. Instead she said, you left "your clothes at home", referring to the ripped shorts I had on. That rubbed me the wrong way, but I responded with a smile and said " it's hot". Then she said "I'm here to collect the table fee". I was like "already"?? I guess she sensed that that wasn't the right time, so she said she'd come back later. The sky was getting cloudy and it started to rain hard. It stopped for a while then rained again. I made a decision to pack up and leave. The owner DID give me a 5$ refund because of the weather. When I left around 12 noon, less than 10 vendors were set up. More vendors than customers. ...I decided to give them the benefit of doubt, so I came the next day. I arrived by 9am, as the owner stated, because it's Sunday, they start at 9. From the time I set up and left, which was at 1pm. I counted less than 11 customers. And about the same amount of vendor's from the previous day. On Sunday my table faire was $10. I noticed more older people coming to socialize rather than shop. I gave 2 stars, simply because the table and area was nice and clean and because the owner gave me a $5 refund due to the weather, which was out of her control. I've been going to the Lee County Flea Market and I do really well. Just wanted to try something different. I don't think I will be going back to Flea Market City on Victory Dr in...
Read moreI am posting based on all my experiences here, I do enjoy the overall more welcoming atmosphere at Flea Market City everytime I go there, before covid, this place was quite booming, despite it being smaller than Lee County flea market, just about every table had vendors. Nowadays, it seems the old regular vendors are only there and it's not a lot of them, and it's really sad, though the vendors are really nice and welcoming. Me and my dad once set up a table back in 2017 where he sold a lot of this stuff on his end. We then set up back in early 2023, maybe late 2022, where we weren't able to sell one thing and that's when we first noticed there wasn't a lot of vendors, owner Sandra only charged us $10 and made an offer should we set up that Sunday, she will not charge us, she even took pictures of our table to show people to try to get people to come and by. We had other things to do on that Sunday but we still appreciated the offer. It's really sad that this place isn't what it used to be, the place is still kept up great, I just really wish it would become booming again, it...
