Hobby Lobby — Local services in Columbus

I’ve loved craft stores for as long as I can remember and Hobby lobby has always been one of my favorites. I love the way they smell and the variety of things they sell is impressive and seems to be constantly growing. This ones still pretty new and it’s always clean when I’m there which is always nice, especially with all that’s been going on. Their inventory is amazingly vast which is somewhat impressive, since this is the smallest hobby lobby I’ve ever been to. The small size doesn’t stop me from always spending longer in the store and more money then I’d planned. Their products are well made for the most part, except for the things that are cheap and obviously cheaply made, and if you plan your trip out and go when whatever it is you’re buying is on sale, you can definitely save some money, since every week they change most of their sales. Whatever you’re wanting is bound to be on sale within a week or two. Their sales are awesome, anywhere up to 50% off! Their lamps, mirrors, wall decor, everything I’ve bought there is still in great shape and was a reasonable price, even the stuff I couldn’t wait till it was on sale. I love their holiday decorations and items, they’re unique and ALWAYS on sale, but don’t love how much of the store Christmas takes up or how early it fills the place… I understand it’s Christian owned, I could personally live without close to half a store full of Christmas before October 15th. Rude customer service again. Being a new store on my last visit, and loving this store in general, I decided to come back. I even gave out 5 stars before as everyone has a bad day once in a while. Another associate issue - it can't be dismissed. I was surprised at this visit though... My 71 year old mother waited patiently at the register for blue haired cashier to call to "Framing desk" to check a store deal. Supposedly the display could not be found. So, the deal - a 50% discount off the $70 paint set my mother wanted to buy for my father would not be honored. I explained again, the table was directly in front of the framing desk but the called associate supposedly couldn't find it. Once my mother was offered to pay full price, she checked out with her other remaining items and went to my car. I walked back, took a photo of the display to purchase the set and the cashier still would not honor the price. I asked "really?" Her response was she had to see it herself. Clearly, "she" had an issue. I did call the manager, "V" and he apologized, said her behavior was not acceptable, the table was not easy to miss and he didn't understand her position and he would meet me upfront. I enjoy the products and variety that is available. There are always great deals and something for everyone. The store is always bright, clean and organized. I shop here pretty frequently. As with many places, there are bad seeds that can give a bad experience -- Amy was it for me. I asked an employee if I could see a lamp plugged it. There were others plugged in, but that particular one wasn't and I didn't know if I could do it myself of not. The employee wasn't sure where bulbs were so she tried to asked Amy. Amy begins saying very loudly that she's not helping anyone else and that everyone would need to wait their turn. I had no issue with waiting, but I did take offense to her behavior and manner in which she responsed. Seeing her speak that way to a coworker and manner in front of customers was off putting. The employee helping me was visibly startled and went to ask someone else. Amy continued to yell that everybody will need to just wait. Now other customers are looking -- Amy hadn't once looked up or in the direction of her peers or anyone. After waiting a while (and listening to Amy complain about helping customers) I did receive help from someone. I'm not sure if Amy was having a bad day or if this is just her personality.
