Yesterday [10-8-2022], I briefly visited the Kroger Marketplace at 199 Graceland Blvd. in the Graceland Shopping Center because I had been thinking that they might have available for sale a much-wanted item that I had not been able to find at any of the places where I usually shop [and also had not been able to find at several new-to-me places where I had never before shopped].
I had been at the Graceland Shopping Center yesterday for completely unrelated reasons; that Kroger Marketplace had been directly across the parking lot from where I had most recently been so I decided to visit there briefly before moving on to my next destination.
For the past several weeks, I have been wanting to purchase a backup "handheld mirror" [a two-sided four-inch-diameter mirror with a handle that has different magnifications on each side] similar to the many-years-old "handheld mirror" that I have been using at my home for many years.
I found the well-illuminated "Beauty" section [where I have learned to look for handheld mirrors]; a helpful staff member [who had been stocking nearby shelves in that section] directed me to the appropriate location; there had been many handheld mirrors -- exactly like I had been looking for -- hanging from a hook.
That item had been "buy-one-get-one-free" yesterday so I bought two of them, put them into my backpack, and then quickly was on the way to my next destination.
My time yesterday afternoon had been quite limited but I am extremely glad that I had spent twelve minutes at the Kroger Marketplace at 199 Graceland Blvd.
I have never before visited such a large Kroger store; maybe I will return there at some point in the future when I have more time to...
Read morePretty standard corporate grocery store.
At times it seems they don't have enough people working the registers. After 9pm it is impossible to use a regular register, imagine having to use self checkout with a large loaded cart! Unacceptable.
Haphazard and messy environment with some goods, especially the clothing and seasonal items. Middle shopping aisles make no sense sometimes with categorization, it can be hard to figure out where something is located. They try to put some semblance of order, but it appears all other Krogers use a different layout per store, so if you are used to one, you will be lost at others.
Meat is expensive. Beef especially. Chicken is usually priced fair. They do offer Berkshire pork, which is a plus. Don't buy discount fish, even after freezing it can be bad within a few days.
Produce is great, and is always the best stocked and cleanest area. Bakery and deli offer some good choices. Murray's cheese is great on selection, but not prices.
They now have a teeny tiny liquor store. Selection is low. Must pay separately. Can't buy other items from main store to combine bill. Last few times attendant was surly at checkout when I visited.
Parking is atrocious, as the spaces are cramped. It appears employees park at the front, taking up valuable space. Cart corals trick you to think there is a parking space because they don't extend to the driving area. It is always filthy, no one apparently sweeps up the litter.
This location doesn't have a gas station, which they could easily fit somewhere in the acres of unused parking that surrounds the...
Read moreI went into the store today for a few things I needed for Easter dinner. As usual it's pretty packed. I so hate the fact that this store has so many spaces for parking dedicated to people who shop online and funny thing is that any time I've ever been at graceland period I don't see even but a few of those parts taken up. Very frustrating to me I try to stay awake from this particular store because of it. It's also kind of hard to shop when you have people with those big shopping traits the have all the little baskets in it because you're in their way are there in your way that's a little frustrating. But I had the most wonderful experience today usually the people that are doing those shopping they're focused on their job they have to pay attention they basically are who want through doing their job and that's it. Well I was struggling trying to find a particular seasoning and after standing there for a few Moments this wonderful Young lady by the name of Nina. Proceeded to come up to me and ask me if there was anything I needed help with I was so pleasantly pleased with the fact that she stopped what she was doing because she see me having a difficult time and was willing to help me. Everyone that I encountered from Nina to the cashier the bag person and even customer service was quite amazing and it was actually a very pleasant experience considering I hate grocery shopping. But most importantly Nina wasn't amazing you guys should give...
