Had an amazing experience with Aerial today!!!

Had a received a truly hideous haircut at a different salon the night before and no amount of playing with it to try to get it to a place I could live with until my next cut was working. I actually had booked an appt for earlier at a nearby salon to fix it, but due to unforeseen circumstances it was cancelled at the salon (won’t explain, but suffice to say, they contributed to a truly heinous experience). Given all of this, I was in tears trying to find any sort of last minute appt and was so thankful it ended up here.

Aerial texted me for photos ahead of time, which I thought was awesome and just set the tone of helping me trust I would be cared for. Once I arrived, we went through the photos together and had a thorough chat to make sure we were on the same page. Throughout the cut she repeatedly asked progress questions and had me feel it to give feedback. It felt like a true collaboration and I felt very free to express myself. I was so impressed with her skills and overall service. She clearly was making sure I was happy with it.

I also really appreciated the way she explained everything she was doing and showed me great styling tips to help achieve the look I wanted on my own. Recommended product types but didn’t push and it was much more from an informative than sales angle. I did end up purchasing something because it seemed like a good fit after understanding the product.

She took so much time with me, not even knowing ahead of time the situation, and was so attentive to detail. Honestly, I wanted to hug her when she finished but didn’t want to be weird. Well, she got a business version of a it in that I was more than happy to book...

My brother first started going to one of the stylists (Aerial) at Philosophi years ago. I believe she was still a student at the time. Over the years my brother has rocked all lengths of hair- long, medium, and short. He also has a good amount of natural waves. Aerial has never failed him. I’ve seen his confidence grow since he’s started experimenting with his hair and I feel Aerial was an influence in that. Even when he had to move back to Cincinnati for a year or so, he would drive up to Columbus to get his haircut. That’s just how good they are.

Yesterday my partner asked me to cut his hair. We all know what happened next- it was terrible. That same night we were able to book an appointment online with Danielle for this morning. He went and said he had a great experience. He thought the salt room was interesting; it’s definitely not something he would’ve tried on his own. Danielle exceeded expectations and his hair looks fantastic now. I felt so guilty for botching his hair, she really saved the day.

I should also mention I have gone here myself a long time ago. I only did the salt room service (full 45 min) but even that was great. It’s definitely something different. I think you get a free mini session (20 min) your first time you get a service done but I might be wrong. Either way, I would recommend it to anyone who needs a haircut anyways. What’s 20 minutes of your life? Try it, everyone needs an occasional break from life.

I will try to convince him to make this his regular place but he usually defaults to the great clip/ walk-in route.
