I'm familiar with repairing vintage tube/solid state guitar amps but I recently acquired an old Pioneer SX-950 stereo reciever that had issues. Upon looking at it myself, I was baffled. A quixk search led me to Hunters.
I dropped off the reciever and I'm pleased to say that it sounds better than ever. Extremely reasonable prices and even a quick turnaround on their work (some places are 3-6 months which is the norm) and this was fixed in 2-3 weeks. They kept me in the loop and replaced all of the components that needed it without unnecessary work and overcharging.
Unfortunately the "old school" repair shops are dying out but I'm very thankful that these guys are around.

   Read moreExcellent electronics repair shop!! Fixed my Yamaha receiver in a couple of days and at a tenth of the cost of a new replacement. Got it home and hooked it up, and discovered that the same AC power anomaly that damaged the receiver had also taken out my powered subwoofer. Called them on the phone and they asked "Does the subwoofer have an external fuse?" I thought the answer was no, but when I got off the phone and checked again, I found a tiny bit of writing next to the AC cord on the back. Turns out it was a pop-out fuse holder. I tested the fuse for continuity and sure enough it was blown. Stuck in a new fuse and voila! Worked perfectly. Thank you so much Hunter...
