USVI Wine Company — Restaurant in Concord

We were looking for a place to go for New Years Eve and I came across USVI Wine Company on Eventbrite. We decided to check it out on Friday, December 29th and we were so glad we found it. The space is welcoming and super comfortable. The owners were friendly and attentive. They produce small batch wine and also carry commercial brands as well. We decided to try their wines and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Now, I usually tend to go for Pinot Noir but I was definitely swayed by their Cabernet. My husband on the other hand, normally gravitates to Cab but he actually went for the Pinot. Their small batch did not disappoint. You can't go wrong with either red. Our friend that came with us is a bartender and a wine enthusiast and she was impressed with their brands as well. We also ordered a medium charcuterie board and it was just the perfect addition to complete the experience. I cannot say enough great things about this gem located right here in Concord!! We moved to this area recently and have been visiting different places around town and this one really stands out! It is such a warm and relaxing place to hang out, grab a glass of wine, talk with friends (and even make new friends!), and just chill. My husband and I went twice - first for an event on New Year’s Eve where he was DJing. That night, the owners guided everyone through a wine tasting and food pairing in which the details of each wine were described in a fun and informative way. Between and after the tastings, people would get up and dance. The spot was so cool and we had so much fun that we came back the very next week just to enjoy the spot again. We went on a Friday night which was a much more relaxed vibe, and my husband and I just sat at the bar and enjoyed a glass of wine based on the recommendation of one of the owners. Let me just say first, I was really excited beforehand when Ashley posted this event with the description wine, henna, and chocolate. Yes! The decor with different types of sitting styles had a nice relaxing vibe as soon as you opened the door. I thought the wine barrels used as tables were spot on. The music from the DJ went well with the flow of the wine tasting. The owner gave us a background of why they started the business to display women and their wine. All wines made from women and the business ran by women. Love it!!! During the wine tasting, we taste from sweet to dry and end with The Dark Shadow wine, my favorite for the evening. I loved how the owner walked the floor to engage her audience while presenting the wine tasting. The other owner was walking around before and during the tasting and being helpful.
