I am updating this review, but will leave the original to share the experience we had. Since leaving the review, I was contacted by a rep from the company (David Wonder) to have a conversation about our experience. He was very receptive to my concerns and owned them, which was refreshing. Didn’t try to make excuses, didn’t try to defend, just owned the issue. He has been great to deal with and has made me willing to give them another opportunity to earn our business, and we have placed a new order today for other items.
Sometimes excellence isn’t measured on being perfect, but how imperfections are handled. I truly hate that it got to the point of needing to leave the initial review, but their response and handling of the issues have been great.
The only remaining issue I would express is that it took almost 2 weeks for them to process the refund from the original order.
Original: Absolutely horrible experience with MoreBeer! and have no intention of ordering from them again. Placed an order for an item that didn’t end up being available and they did not communicate this. I had to reach out after a couple days of not receiving any updates or tracking information.
I was given several different answers on when it might be available, and later ensured that the item would be available the first week of June. As of June 23, I still had not received any confirmation, tracking, or communication and requested they cancel the order. I was told via email that the item had already shipped, so we agreed to keep the order.
As of July 4, we still don’t have our package, and delivery updates state business was closed upon delivery attempt, despite it going to a residential address, its tracking never shows it making it to the town of delivery. It now states the package was damaged and the label had to be replaced.
I am incredibly unhappy with my experience and complete lack of communication from...
Read moreI'm new to brewing, so I felt a little overwhelmed when I walked into the store and started looking around. I was just there to get a brewing kit, but even that felt a bit daunting given my experience. Do I need whole grain or extract? When I thought I had what I needed I went to the register to check out.
I must've looked like a tourist because immediately one of the employees approached me to make sure I had what I needed. He could obviously tell that I was lost, so he looked at what I had to see what I was missing. He was very knowledgeable and patient. He went over the reasons why I needed one ingredient versus another, and explained the differences between one thing and another. When one ingredient was out of stock, he found a substitute for it which he said actually worked better than what the recipe called for. By the time I actually got to the register I felt much more confident after getting advice from someone who knew what he was doing.
I will definitely be back. This place has everything for home brewing, from ingredients to equipment and educational material. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They stock everything you need to make beer at home. I was very happy with my...
Read moreOk west coast IPA fans, I was driving from Brentwood to San Ramon TotalWine because they had the best selection of west coast IPA kegs I could find until I stumbled on to this place because I needed a co2 tank exchange. They do both 5 and 20lb tank exchange. But what sets this place apart from the huge selection is they don’t charge a deposit for your keg. Cost is a little higher but comparable to BevMo. And if they can, they will get that keg you can’t find elsewhere. I was blown away by the products available to brew your own and this is the first place I found that has kegerators for sale, new and used I believe. I found 3 kegs both times I’ve been without requesting them. Gonna request for next time because you are reading this and you will surely buy the ones I really like. I was gonna buy 5 but I’m really picky. Oh and if you need help loading them, this...
