Um, have I been missing out on killer breakfast, so close to home, for a few years now? I returned to G-Cafe a weekend ago (and I haven't been here in years!), only to find that the rumors of "BEST Crab Benedict" are TRUE. No joke - it's the best. So much tender, meaty crab with great Hollandaise sauce (I always get mine on the side) and the hash browns were exactly how crispy I wanted them. My plate was great!!
Fred ordered chicken-fried steak and I couldn't help but steal more than a couple of bites from his large, 2 plate serving! The gravy was really creamy and delicious and the breading was light and crunchy and perfect. At the end of our breakfast two slices of watermelon were brought out to us. I'm usually not one of those people that's like "oh, best 'this' ever"... "best 'that' ever".... but the watermelon was FOR REALZ the best watermelon ever!!
It was packed inside when we arrived but we were seated and served quickly. Really friendly staff and our coffees were kept full. I can't wait to go back in and enjoy another impressive (and affordable!) breakfast!!
[PS - My ONLY advice to the restaurant. Take down the pictures of plated food on your wall and replace with new ones. Many are blurry or out of focus, the salmon plate looks brown, rather than pink and appetizing, and they just aren't doing your food justice. Have them retaken or remove altogether. Your food is better than that!]

OH FOR THE LOVE OF BENEDICT
I love egg's benedict. The first time I had this was less than a year ago and it's been a recent favorite of mine. Mostly because I love English muffins and eggs! I am NOT a fan of Hollandaise sauce. It's not that I dislike it, I just enjoy food without heavy sauces and don't need all the empty calories. Plus, I prefer to hot sauce everything I eat. MmmmMMmm hot sauce.
We were really hungry and this place is super close to home. it was our first time here since the name change. We arrived and I barely noticed a couple we're friends with sitting two tables away. They totally came over and said hi after we ate and that's when I guiltily realized my eyes probably hadn't left the table the entire time I'd been there. I didn't get a really friendly vibe from the two staff people working, though they weren't by any means unfriendly. And our food wasn't bad, in fact, parts of it were quite enjoyable, but there were a couple things that made it overall just A-OK.
I had the veggie benedict with spinach added. I forgot to ask for no sauce but I often forget, and I can generally remove it with an empty bowl and spoon. However, there was sooo much on here that the muffins were really soggy. I seriously filled the better part of a large bowl with sauce. Oddly, one egg was a little underdone (just a little bit, but it was just enough for me to notice to clear egg parts) and the other egg was just a little overdone (it had almost no runny yolk).
Husband had sausage links on his breakfast and on the end of each of them there was this amazing crunchy piece. It was really good. They had good flavor and weren't too greasy. Our hashbrowns (which we requested extra crispy) were served perfectly. Great crunch and there were lots of them.
I'll definitely be back since this place is so close to home. I'd like to explore the menu just a...
Read moreThis is for you early breakfast risers and more specifically, Fried Rice w/ Hot Links!!! Fried Rice done up the Gangnam Cafe way with eggs (I prefer over-easy, but forgot to communicate this with the call taker) scrambled is the default, and was tasty regardless the egg style cooked!!! The spice level of the hot links was just right. It woke my taste buds up and meshed in harmony with the bits of fried rice, bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Taste reminded me of a Cajun jambalaya, which I was pleasantly surprised with (I love Jambalaya)!!! Since my order was To-Go, it took about 10 minutes until my order was ready. They do have ApplePay. Restaurant contained various tables and chairs, comfy looking. And also a counter-top to eat at too! Looked clean and staff was very hospitable ^.^ I would definitely return for the...
Read moreGangnam Cafe in Concord is a true gem! This cafe excels in every aspect, from its delicious all-day breakfast to the cozy, roomy dining room with a welcoming outdoor patio. Their eggs Benedict are an absolute must-try, perfectly crafted and available throughout the day. What really sets Gangnam Cafe apart, though, is the incredible staff, especially the energetic employee running the show single-handedly! Watching her handle everything with ease—taking an impressive 15,000 steps during her shift—is inspiring. She keeps the space neat, all customers served on time, and makes sure everyone leaves well-fed and happy. Highly...
