Decent tasting product and slightly cheaper than other places, but after the owner nearly physically assaulted my 5'2" 55 year old mother when she was picking up 10 pounds of meat they had shorted her we will be paying a little more money at a different business to ensure my mother's safety. This all started because she had a question about the remaining product she was picking up which still seemed to be short. Shorter than the typical amount lost from smoking. The female co-owner dismissed the question and began walking away. My mom spoke up asking about the missing product hoping for a concerned response from the business owner like any sane person should be able to expect. Especially after being shorted by 10 pounds. The male co-owner quickly approached from around the corner not knowing the context of the situation and began raising his voice and invading my mother's personal space making her feel very unsafe. It was a completely disproportionate response and absolutely uncalled for under any circumstances. We have spent many thousands of dollars at H&S over the years, but needless to say we will be taking our business elsewhere. I'd been looking all over for a 7-Bone roast and called H&S. He explained that it's hard to find roasts with bone, however he cuts chuck roasts that looks and tastes similar to a 7-bone. He was so personable and spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone. We picked up the roast and it was everything he said and more. Delicious. Before this, we'd been shopping at Majkszaks and HEB for the same type of roast. The chuck roasts they sell are very thick and round like a rump roast, with tough stringy meat. Thus the search for a new butcher/meat market. H&S's roast was wide and about 2" thick. I cooked it the same as the others and what a difference. This roast came out tender and delicious! This is the first year that I used H& S for processing my deer. My order was taken in a timely manner and they unloaded my 120 qt. Ice chest containing my quartered deer. The processing was completed in one week and I received a message on my phone that my order was ready. I picked it up and the cost was compatible with industry standards. They filled my order correctly, cleaned out my ice chest and loaded all of the meat( which was frozen really good) into my truck for me.
